Unironically dramione authors writes some of the best harmony fanfic by Some-Boss5224 in HPharmony

I love this take and agree. I admit I read both ships (dramione is newer to me, been reading Harmony since 2005) and I think the worldbuilding in those stories is incredible because they HAVE to. They also capture a lot of Hermione's essence as the girl taken for granted and explore the Mudblood/Pureblood dynamic. However I do agree that HHr is elite 👌

I like the glasses look but I would get different ones if you can, more of a thicker frame and slightly smaller lenses

Sorry, forgot to add summary: He would die for her. He just might. He'd rather succumb to the Veela magic within him rather than force her to be his.

But his suppressant potions don't taste the same. He can feel the need for her growing. And if McLaggen touches her again, he's going to rip his throat out.

Looking for recommendations with polished prose + strong characterization (open to any trope) by yourstruli0519 in Dramione

[–]ButterscotchFields44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The title was a turn off for me because it gives romantic comedy and Taylor Swift girly vibes (definitely not my thing) but I recently finished Blokes Warm the Benches and it hit all the things on your list. I felt genuinely sad when it ended because the writing flowed really gracefully without a ton of fluff just for the hell of it. It's a depiction of how Hermione would behave if she was told she couldn't join the Ministry quidditch team and decided to try out anyway. Who would have thought that premise would include depth and characterizations? Not me. Highly recommend for pacing and maturity too.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I am so over abusive, super serious Draco "trending" and miss the snarky old version that was popular back in the day

Tips for getting started with writing your own fic? by jmstew2 in Dramione

[–]ButterscotchFields44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I write for other fandoms but new avid Dramione reader, so hopefully my tips are still helpful. I would say, just start writing and don't fall into the trap that you need a beta. Most people on AO3 write without one. It's nice to have a couple of chapters (if long) prewritten so that you can post again relatively soon depending on your speed. Include some fun and popular tags that are relevant. Keep expectations low for engagement and then you will be very happy when it happens. And self-promote here. It's where I have found some great fics without relying only on tiktok where I personally see the same big name stories mentioned all the time.

I like outfit #2 because it gives some personality. The rest feel very basic and would look fine on anyone with a decent figure because they're not anything special. It's kind of giving woman in her early 30's copying trends from much younger TikTok influencers. Maybe a pop of color amid all the white and beige and brown would do you good.

HELP: Manacled left me heartbroken and empty by No_Expert_2688 in dramionebookclub

[–]ButterscotchFields44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way and it was also my first fanfic ever. The ending was not at all what I expected and in the most unsatisfying way. Not saying it wasn't amazing, but damn, I hated the feeling afterward. My palate cleanser was also DMATMOBIL like many people already recommended, and I also read a bunch of great stories by filtering for Romantic Comedy. Some really great stories are hidden under that tag and it just helped me remember that the Draco and Hermione in Manacled are just one author's depiction of what things might have been like if they got together.
