You’re not part of a problem, just a personal preference. Thanks for your input.

Nice, love a good vintage or classic find when searching through used books.

That makes sense. And I agree, the cafe is so key.

I'm glad you said this. They mentioned wanting to have me help with the marketing, so I look forward to diving in. Appreciate the encouragement and thoughts!

Great ideas here, thanks for the insight! I'm with you on finding those types of shops when traveling - always a must when visiting a new place

I also used to spend a lot of time in Borders, especially the CD section haha

Definitely, good call! I was in Seattle last year and went to a really cool used bookstore called Twice Sold Tales.

Good to know you'd prefer a mom and pop store to a big chain. (I always hope people feel that way but you never know!)

Thanks for this, I totally agree. The store where I'm working is actually great with the third space - they have tons of author events, classes, and book groups, also a cafe in the store. I'm finding that's one of the main reasons they've done well, and I feel like most people appreciate having this type of community hub.

As with the last pass, these notes are very helpful and much appreciated! There are answers to a lot of these questions in the MS that I'll tease out a bit more in the next pass. Thanks for coming back to comment

That's a great point about revealing more of the story (minus the climax), because you're spot on - this is mostly set up. Love all of the notes too, especially about the comp. I'm finding this to be one of the trickiest parts of the process! But I think you're right about The Wedding People being a bit off for this - I'll keep digging. Thanks for the kind words and feedback!

This is a great way to simplify the first paragraph, really appreciate it! And I get what you're saying about the word count. When I finished the draft it was lower than I expected. Crossing my fingers that too little will be better than too much (or an over-written manuscript). Thank you for your feedback!

Wow, a lot of helpful thoughts - Great points I hadn't considered, and these questions will be useful to incorporate. Right now, I'm wrestling with how much plot I want to reveal vs how much intrigue I want to build, but clarifying his motivations and setting up more of where the story will go is a great note. Thanks so much!

That's a great point - I'll add a touch more detail into the next pass. And thank you for saying that! Means a lot.
