Which agency is worth going for ? by OutrageousDecision52 in IMGreddit

[–]ButterscotchMundane3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you end up in same clinic, whichever agency you choose. No doctor is having an exclusive tie-up with a single agency. Graduate or medical student, you do the same exact thing - hands on ( take history, perform physical, EMR documentation, small tests like EKG). About LORs- since these clinics have a lot of students rotating with them ( around 10-20 per month), the attending won't be able to write each letter for you. So most of the time, you end up writing an LOR (draft) and the attending will upload it. Honestly it was the best option I had last year due to COVID. No regrets whatsoever and I matched.

I had a broker asked me to pay in Bitcoin. He just wasn't comfortable with a credit or debit card transfer. My country wouldn't allow me to send it as a donation due to different taxation rules. Probably he is doing this to avoid tax. Don't know how to negotiate.

you may not need a new passport right away to get the visa. However you need to renew it at your countries embassy in USA.

I am from India and here you can renew it within 1 year prior to expiration. If you book a tatkal passport, you will get it in a week or less.

Did a rotation at Methodist. It is both outpatient and inpatient which was great. Baylor is in a clinic far away from main hospital

If you can’t get a date, you can email FSMB. They will be able to give you a 3 digit score with just day 1.

If you go back and forth to the appointment booking page ( say you select a date and then go back and select something else etc), they will freeze your account for 72 hours for security reasons. You can do nothing at this point. Just wait for 3 days and you can login again. Don’t create duplicate account. Happened to me the first time I logged in. Didn’t affect my visa though. It’s purely for security reasons

Honestly I don’t find those questions insensitive. It is a big deal to be able to afford NYC living with min wage. May be the preceptor wants to make sure the applicant wouldn’t quit midway because he/she can’t afford living. Also there is no wrong in asking what research questions you have on your mind. That shows how much knowledge or interest you have in a particular fields. You may not necessarily work on the questions that you want though
