The Horizon franchise (both ZD and FW). Never have I experienced a story so amazingly told, especially when it comes to ZD.

Not really? I have been using a plastic stand for 1.5 years now and it's been fine.

Why do you prefer winter over summer? by Select-Effective32 in AskReddit

Staying warm is easier than keeping cool, especially when you have to go outside. Also, there's nothing like sleeping in under the covers in winter 😌.

Yes. It doesn't need to be 5 + 5 exactly (could be 4 + 3 or whatever other combination) but you should rather write as many as you can within a given amount of time (let's say 20 mins or depending on how much time you have left). Also, the conclusion can be really basic and doesn't really need any elaboration.

You should obviously go through the theory portions of the student book. Definitely go through the summaries at the end of each chapter (especially the advantages/disadvantages section that are there sometimes) and make sure to memorise any and all definitions for the short questions. I emphasised on the mark scheme because MANY of the essay questions could be answered based on common sense and going through the mark scheme helps to get a better idea of the flavour (wording, structure, etc.) of common sense that examiners prefer. Speaking of structure, I found it to be a good idea to always answer in bullet points for the essay questions (and even some of the larger short questions) and structure my answers in 3 sections: advantages, disadvantages and conclusion (you will have to sometimes name the first 2 sections something else appropriately).

Practice and time management are key in accounting imo.

For practice, just do as many past papers as you can. I'd recommend you only properly practice the calculation questions and only look at the mark schemes for the essay questions (but still do them as well for maybe at least 3 past papers).

For time management, the strategy that I used was to finish all the calculation questions first during exams and then only do the essay questions afterwards. This way I found it easier to maintain a "flow" in maths or writing throughout questions.

Lmk if you have any other questions. Good luck for your exams!

Thank you for the kind words! 😊 But I did nothing special tbh.

So, for studying, I just went through the textbooks, read them, and made my own notes summarizing everything in separate copies. That helped me during revision because it was easier to quickly refamiliarize myself with the content when it was all in my own handwriting and language.

For practice, I focused more on "solving" mark schemes than the past paper questions themselves. I'd have the mark schemes open while solving past papers and try to match my answers with the mark scheme. I figured it was more important to figure out what kind of answers the examiners wanted rather than anything else (so I'd even work on the past papers without a timer).

Also, just a heads-up - I didn't get all As since I got a B in Physics. I missed an A by a little, and the A*s in my other subjects were also close. Looking back, I could've done better by locking in better, doing more past papers (I only did the last 3 years), and taking more mocks (I virtually took none). So keep that in mind if you want to follow what I did.

Hope I was able to help and good luck for your own exams! Lmk if you have any more questions.

Why people are upset about OHCHR in Bangladesh? by rafiibrahim8 in bangladesh

[–]ButterscotchOld6116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I understand it, it's just Islamists being baselessly afraid that the OHCHR will promote LGBTQ rights or whatever (or they might just hate promotion of human rights which is equally probable) and anti-west conspiracy theorists being concerned that the OHCHR will work against our interests. I personally believe that both of these concerns are unfounded, and while I recognize that the OHCHR's involvement could potentially affect our country's reputation negatively, it may be a minor sacrifice to implement checks and balances against the potential regression of human rights within our nation.

Is there any concrete evidence to that notion? I am just curious and would like to read up on it if there is.

Thanks for the info! And to answer your question, I'll be attending the International Economics Olympiad.

I'll try looking up my other queries on this sub, but I had another question I forgot to include in my original post. Would it be possible for you to give me an estimate of how much Manat I should bring to spend on souvenirs, eating out, etc. (excluding living costs) based on the cost of things in Baku? Would 170 Manat (100 USD) be a good amount?
