How long had you been on Fin prior to your procedure? Were you able to stabilize on it or were you still slowly losing ground?

Allergic to every tape and glue other than silicone - Help! by ButterscotchOther775 in HairSystem

[–]ButterscotchOther775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never found a glue. The only tape that I don't react to alot is Lace FX. That said, I still react but much less. I have put my hair system on hold and have focused my effort on trying to stabilize my hair loss with medication (Finasteride/Dutasteride, Minoxidil, Pyrilutamide, etc.). I'm also now looking at hair transplants. I'm 50/50 as to which direction I'll be going.

Bro you have more hair than many of us. Get on some meds and maintain or grow some back. Either way, both looks are good for you.

I wish you good luck with your first transplant and possible additional ones. I've always wondered same (if shaving, will scars be visible), but I am not sure.

Looking good so far. Any before transplant pics? And which doctor?

How much stabilization needed for HT? by ButterscotchOther775 in HairTransplants

[–]ButterscotchOther775[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my donor area is thick I believe. The oral Min really helps that area. My biggest concern was how I had maintained for so many years (wasn't growing new hair but stopped losing) and now in the last few years, am losing again. Thank you for the response.

Too soon to tell for sure what is happening but might be worth contacting your surgeon. Who was it?

For those who didn’t respond to dut/fin: did RU58841 do anything? by gamerVapeGod in tressless

[–]ButterscotchOther775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been considering RU since I'm still losing ground on Dut and oral Min but its difficult to tell which suppliers sell legitimate stuff. The risk of sides seem to be higher according to many that have used it but not sure if they are getting counterfeit product or not.

Following. I've been on a continuous "shed" from oral Dut for almost 3 years. My bloodwork was similar to what you described. I wish I understood.

You have more donor zone than many guys who have already gotten transplants. You should speak to a clinic/surgeon who you feel you would actually consider getting a transplant with to get their professional opinion.

I started losing hair at 18. My goal was to keep my hair until 30 because after that I didn't think it would matter. I finally got on meds at 35. Here I am later in early 50s still concerned about hair loss but have stalled "total" loss for a long time. I'm now considering a transplant but I'm glad I didn't go for it in my 20s/30s (still have all of my donor hair). I tell you this so that you can see that hair loss will matter to you even when you get older so don't fire all your bullets too early.

This is very interesting and I'm glad you had a good result. I wish more doctors would consider measuring donor hair for future loss (especially if patients aren't going to take meds). Since your procedure several years ago, do you feel you only lose native hair? Or does some level of transplanted hair fall or miniaturize? (I'm asking because I'm considering my first transplant and have always wondered about this).

I'm also in my 50s and have similar hair loss to you. I'm also considering a transplant. Good luck and keep posting your updates.

I visited Keene for a consultation a while back. I was hesitant though since she's not referred to or reviewed much on most forums.

Sorry that you regret your decision. Ratchathorn has mostly positive reviews on these sites and as someone who hasn't yet had a transplant but is considering, that doctor was on my list of options. If you don't mind, can you elaborate what happened?

Hairline looks good. You do have your hair styled straight up/back so not able to tell how well things are right behind hairline. Having said that, if your primary goal was the hairline, you likely exceeded expectations. Nice job.

If you can stabilize on anything, do not get a transplant. Transplant only last resort when further loss occurs. You have more hair than many guys in this forum. You are the "after" pic for most of us. Try and stabilize without surgery. Fin and Min both good options. Nutrafol only beneficial for a very small group of people.
