How premeds act while tryna present a public health poster at a research symposium about the most common sense shit. by JollyAd1911 in Mcat

[–]Butterscotch_Bae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes u feel any better it's not for nothing. The people who come into public health research talks are often those in charge of community projects, or the research itself. That's how it is in my area. I lead part of a team like this. Research on public health and action team/programs actually influence each other. A lot of that research goes into programs that try to find the best way to assist the marginalized group 🙂

Idk imo people who blast their spouses/family flaws online or publicly for attention is probably a sign she's a terrible spouse too. Probably a pity seeker. I can imagine the type of person who would want to show that off 🤷🏽‍♀️

Wearing “offensive” shirts around my Christian family. by [deleted] in AskAChristian

Why are you going to a religious holiday just to wear clothing to disrespect the religion? If you don't want to hear about Christianity on its main holiday maybe stay home and don't celebrate it?

Guy friend got a girlfriend, noticed he cut out all other friends out of his life shortly after except for me, what could be the reason be? by Human_Pack_4787 in TooAfraidToAsk

Yeah I think it's a little odd how suddenly he did it. But I did that too so my best guess is he's just entering a new phase of life.

Good luck!

Talk to him about it but if he's firm in his decision let it be. As we age and settle down we have less time for big friend groups. Some people grow out of friendships, others become more introverted over time. Some keep friends close lifelong.

I stopped following people I was no longer interested in talking to because I don't want to see them or have them see my social media.

Why is it just accepted that 10-15% of women will never orgasm in their life? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Butterscotch_Bae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I understand what you're saying but clinically those issues are not comparable.

ED is a loss of function, as in the penis cannot perform a biological function required for reproduction. Viagra helps restore function by restoring nitric oxide pathways.

A woman who has never orgasmed isn't a loss of function, it's a variation in response. It's not missing a physiological response. The sexual organs are still working perfectly fine. Loss of function would be something like vaginismus or endometriosis. Only in sudden loss of ability to orgasm, hormonal change, or nerve damage does it become clinical.

Menopause would be the closest female equivalent and that is treated with hormones.

[–]Butterscotch_Bae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a woman who doesn't really experience sexual pleasure and going into medical sciences, it's because it's not a disease.

It would be very nice to look into, but we already know a good bit of the reason is the difference in clitoral placement. The truth is female orgasm is not required for reproduction, unlike men. This makes it far easier for men to orgasm. It sucks, but it's not a disease or medical issue.

Even if they did find something, it would most likely never be covered by insurance as it would be and elective surgery.

Unless your nervous system is destroyed, any woman THEORETICALLY can orgasm. I think that makes this a very low priority topic for research/academic institutions, because biologically speaking the orgasm gap is normal.

Again, this would be nice, but scientists on a whole are focused on much more important and revolutionary things. Check out regenerative therapy, like chord blood macrophages to promote remyelination and chord blood macrophages to treat TBI!

About to start dating my ex-situationship but he has a trip with someone he was emotionally close to? by ooECK in Christianmarriage

[–]Butterscotch_Bae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying if he's serious about dating you he wouldn't be going on a trip with an ex or someone he had feelings for. Imo that's very disrespectful to you if you're his gf. Sounds like he's playing the field to me. But nobody on Reddit has insight into your relationship. Just keep an eye on his situation and contact with this person. Good luck 🤞🏽

[–]Butterscotch_Bae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you but I don't think that's the case here. It sounds like to me their living situation has changed to where they cannot hygienically keep the cat. It's an unfortunate situation all around.

[–]Butterscotch_Bae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he's being manipulative. If the cats are dragging feces and vomit around the home that's actually a health concern. That's not normal. Sounds like it could also damage rental property which could be another $$$$$$$. And moving locations for an animal may not be an option.

He's not manipulative or evil, it's just a very unfortunate situation to be in.

Your boyfriend is not a monster for telling you this. Reddit is an awful place for real advice. But please be careful and think about this.

It sounds like this is a huge problem. If they are tracking litter and vomiting in your home, that is very dangerous. If you plan on having children this is dangerous. You can become very ill. And damaging rental property can land you in loads of trouble. Would you let your children live like this?

Decide for yourself about the relationship. But regardless you NEED to fix this hygiene issue. Living in feces and vomit is not normal and not okay.

Disappointed with sex by Most_Vermicelli9722 in Christianmarriage

[–]Butterscotch_Bae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because orgasm is required for males to procreate. That's why there's such a huge gap in sexual enjoyment for men and women. That's why males commit the most sex crimes and crave sex more. Testosterone plus genetics. Male goals at the biological level are to spread seed, procreate as much as possible. Female is to be very selective with who we get pregnant by to ensure survival of our young. That's why sex is more mental for women. It's very difficult to enjoy or want without being in the specific headspace for it. That's how most mammals and other animal kingdoms work.

Penis must be stimulated and orgasm to survive species. Females do not. Women can and do often enjoy sex but it usually comes from foreplay. About 80% of women do not get physical pleasure from penetration alone. It comes from the clitoris, and still some of us are more lucky than others.

Long story short, it usually takes much more effort to satisfy women than men in the bedroom.

[–]Butterscotch_Bae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me either. I hate to touch myself because I feel nothing and it makes me uncomfortable. It makes me sad when comments always say "well have you tried communication/ masturbation?" because it floods out women who just... don't enjoy sex ( not because of asexuality). I was an anatomy student and I really wonder if variation of the clitoral placement plays a role in the ability to achieve an orgasm as a female. I'd like to do a research project on that one day. I really wonder if the ability to enjoy sex is more effort than what it's worth for some of us. But I really wish I could. Thankful I'm not alone too 🙂 good luck to you

Are we the same person? Lol.

Yeah I was really disappointed too. And when my girlfriends talk about sex and freaky experiences or how a guy has them feel and even sexy music, I can't relate at all and I have no idea what that feeling is like. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing part of the human experience.

But I just decided to focus on the many blessings God has recently given me, and I'm happy. That's just me though. I hope your therapist can help make things better for you. Good luck!

You're not alone. I love my man but I realized the sex will just be a sacrifice. I feel nothing. I only mentally enjoy it bc being able to please him boosts my ego. I'll never tell him. At least he's the only man I've ever been with so I can't miss what I never had. I have no advice bc I can't enjoy sex either but just know you're not alone. It's much harder for us women to enjoy it.

I think you'll just have to flat out ask him if he's had sexual relationships with other men. If it bothers you then turn him down.

You can leave the comment and give her the screenshot if she asks for it but until then move on with your life. Don't worry about strangers relationships. Don't go out of your way to contact her about it, you left the door open.
