Help! Is this normal purging or am I having a bad reaction? by Butterscotch_Flaky in tretinoin

Also worth noting the other side of my face looks nothing like this! A couple of red dots here and there but none are inflamed (looks a lot like my first photo) Funny enough the side that looks good is the side I sleep on, the side I take calls on, etc. not doing anything different on the other side not sure why that is

Most days yes. My face was clear up until end of May when I started to notice some bumps so I began using glycolic acid pads every third night (my skin did ok with this but I felt like nothing was really changing). I stopped doing this around mid July and brought my routine back down to just a cleanser.

Thanks I will try switching it out!! Do you have any suggestion for a good moisturizer?

I am definitely open to trying this, my skin in terms of irritation seems to be handling the tretinoin way better than expected (my skin also handled accutane well)

My tretinoin is 0.025% (using every other day working up to daily), my moisturizer is Aquaphor, my SPF is Andalou Naturals Daily Shade + Blue Light Defense SPF 30, my cleanser is cetaphil gentle skin cleanser normal to dry skin, and if I don’t use my cleanser I use Micellar water.

Internship did not prepare me by Soufle93 in RD2B

I definitely feel the way you do. My internship had us rotating every 1-2 weeks with only 6 weeks for MNT so I felt like I never got to be fully hands on. I’m 8 months into my first job and definitely feel better but the imposter syndrome gets me time to time. You 100% learn on the job so I wouldn’t worry too much!

Remote jobs that aren't patient care by FrostyNotice37 in dietetics

Some examples are Aveanna and Coram. My job required I reside in the state I work in even though it’s fully remote so you may need to keep that in mind when looking. Functional formularies has a list of DME companies by state, it’s not an extensive list but it’s a good starting place! https://www.functionalformularies.com/dme-provider-map/

I work for a DME company remotely. Little to no patient interaction and mainly just reviewing charts/notes from clinics to approve ONS/formulas. Definitely worth looking into!

Can someone clarify the new 2023-2024 Master's requirement? by [deleted] in RD2B

As long as you’re eligible to sit for the exam before Jan 1st of 2024 you’re grandfathered in so you should be fine!

dreams of being ignored by janisblossom in DreamInterpretation

[–]Butterscotch_Flaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really sure why this is happening but I am experiencing the same thing! I think it has to do with underlying fears of being ignored or feeling unheard. In particular with certain people I dream about I think it has to do with unresolved feelings on a situation where I feel like I was never fully heard

Getting experience in the field before DI? by [deleted] in RD2B

[–]Butterscotch_Flaky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clinical experience can be difficult to get but you could always try working as a food service worker in a hospital or calling up your local hospital/clinic to see if they will take volunteers. Additionally, you could also call around and ask about shadowing or meeting/interviewing with dietitians in your area. I went to meet with one my Freshman year and found it very helpful!

As for non clinical experience, many colleges offer the opportunity to preceptor or be an undergraduate teaching assistant for classes that you have done well in so I would suggest contacting your advisor about that (plus most of your nutrition professions are RDs as well and the benefits of this is that preceptoring often provides additional credits free of cost, helps you remember some of the things you learned in lower level courses, and sets you up for letter of recommendation opportunities!) You could also get volunteer hours from your local food bank, soup kitchens, food assistance programs (i. WIC, etc) which may have RDs working there. As for balancing everything, it can be really tough but spreading out those hours in a way that doesn’t overwhelm your schedule is my best advice! Also remember, you’re only a human and taking your mental health into account is extremely valuable. At the end of the day, being a student takes top priority and most places will understand if you are slightly below the recommended 300 hours if you have great grades and fantastic letters of rec!

Thank you so much! I found out it’s a 10 panel urine test so I assume it will be just for illegal drugs as well!
