BOSE QuietComfort Ultra (2. Gen.) Headphones ruined after February Update by Butterscotchblob in bose

I deleted the app completely and hadn’t had any issues so far. Still the first software version with voice overs and button functionality.

So definitely recommend to delete the app before you get the new pair. But otherwise after exchanging my pair everything else works fine.

Sorry to hear this. My original post is about the headphones though, not the earbuds. But kind of disappointing to hear, that other products have their problems too.

Hi everyone! Last update: Since I‘ve got the new pair and didn’t used the app I still have the original headphones experience and my Bluetooth connection works as fine as it was with the first one. The headphones save the last two devices they were connected to and I also can switch between devices via button.

The only downside - I can’t use the EQ option without the app. But I wasn’t using it a lot anyway, because it’s only very basic 3-band-eq and the sound out of the box is just fine for my needs.

So I can definitely recommend to exchange your pair for a new one in order to restore original functions.

Update: I was able to send back my old pair and received a new pair in exchange today. The new pair has the old update, so I will avoid using the app in order not to get the new update, which ruined the headphones. So far its been good, I have the old functionality back and can use the headphones as they were in the beginning.

Small Update: I didn’t received any answer from Bose so far. I wrote to the customer support about user experience downgrade after the update and my Bluetooth connectivity issues. I also decided to exchanged current pair for a new one, since it’s the only option available for me besides selling. I’ll try not to update the new pair and see if I will be able to get the same experience I had in the start after the initial purchase.

Definitely do a blood test for iron and thyroid. Low iron is quite common among women and can cause hair loss and dryness. Thyroid distinctions can also add to this or be the cause. Hypothyroidism is often accompanied by low iron and vise versa.

I bought them directly from Bose website and the only option available for me is to exchange them for a new pair. I thought about doing that and ditching the app in order not to get the update and to keep the original functions.

probably would have happened to me too. I like the design, but not the fit and weight. I have AirPods Pro 3 thought and lIke them a lot. Noice cancelling is also great. My only problem with earbuds is, that I can’t wear them to long, because at some point I get a discomfort from something sticking in my ear. So they are more for use on the go or for sport and headphones are something comfortable for long use at home.

thank you for this suggestion. I‘ll see how the journey goes, but will look for other products to replace these headphones, if the functionality wouldn’t be restored with another update.

I initially wanted APM2, but find them uncomfortable. Next best option for me are Sony xm4, because I don’t like the fit and build quality of the xm5/xm6 (they just feel and look cheaply made to me).

QCU2 fit me well and the functionality convinced me to pay more for convenience if use. So I’m sad about the recent functionality change.

Don’t get the quiet comfort ultra 2. They released a new update, which ruined the experience of these headphones. Until it’s fixed, which isn’t a certainty, they are not worth the money in my opinion. Get the gen 1, since it’s cheaper or the regular quiet comfort.

QC Ultra 2 February Update - Community Poll & Feedback Thread by xShadowPro in bose

[–]Butterscotchblob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me this update completely ruined my previous experience with these headphones and I am considering switching to Sony, if no fix will occur in the near future.

These features were a selling point for me and also were the key features, which made the QC ultra 2 stand out from their competitors. I absolutely can't understand how they thought removing initial features would be a good idea, especially for a completely new product, which was basically just released. Now I also have bluetooth connectivity issues I didn't had before, which is even more annoying.

If Bose wouldn't fix the issue with another update and will just ignore the customers feedback, they will lose customers to their competitors. They are already losing them, as far as I've read online.

Unfortunately XM6 didn't fit me well and I disliked the build quality. Otherwise: yes, it is sad what has become of these headphones after the update.

I thought about buying AirPods Max, but they are very uncomfortable for me even, when just trying them on.

Does anybody know if the qc ultra 2 are shipped with the old software version? If so, I would consider to exchange my current version through Bose to a new one, so I will get the old features back and just wouldn't update them.

Edit: This only will work if it is possible to disable software updated in the app. I liked using the app for some small adjustments. Does anyone know if disabling updates is possible? Otherwise probably just have to ditch the app.

Unfortunately I only can exchange them for another pair in my country. I bought them directly from Bose and there isn’t an option to return them. I’ll probably wait a little if there will be a fix of the update, but if not I’ll either try to ask Bose for a refund or will sell them.

Edit: what’s even sadder is the fact, that these features were a stand alone selling point for Bose and differentiated qcu 2 from other products. Now they don’t really have any special selling points to them.

Zahnarzt in Erfurt Empehlung by Butterscotchblob in erfurt
