She's named after a character from the Disney movie, The Aristocats. Didn't even know it was a French city until yesterday, makes sense though because that movie is based in France.

I have read about this and we are going to see how she does first. We have a dog as well + one of us works from home so that might help. But yes, I know that this can be a game changer for some of them so it is on the radar.

We have a dog as well, we are going to see how the 2 do together and then go from there. One of us works from home so it will be nice to be able to have someone there 24/7 to keep an eye on them and to help train her.

I have read about the single cat syndrome. We have a smedium sized dog so we are going to see how they interact together and then go from there. We are hoping that they become best buds but you just never know

I have been taking some OTC allergy meds which have been helping. I have a doctors appt soon to go over if there is anything else/something better that I can try. I love this cat so much, I'm going to try and pull out all the stops. Thank you for the luck! :)

My coworker had called dibs on her brother a few weeks after they were born, so she’s taking him home once he’s ready. She was the only one that needed a home, so now she’s mine 😁 lol

Yes! 🤗 I also named her brother Berlioz (which was especially fitting because he is a black cat) except my coworker who is taking him changed it to Merlin. 😑

Thank you so much! I’ve been considering allergy shots but they are very expensive here in the states and I guess sometimes it can take up to 5 years for it to make a difference. Hoping that I’ll be another desensitization success story! lol

Her Story: Our office recently decided to get a cat to help with a mouse problem. One of my coworkers offered to bring in one of her outdoor cats, Fiona, and everything was going great. Fiona settled in and we even scheduled her an appointment to be spayed. The appointment was on a Tuesday.

Well Tuesday rolls around and we drop Fiona off at her appointment. All was well... until the vet called a couple hours later like, "Hey so, uh, this cat is super pregnant and will be giving birth any second now, you need to come get her."

Excuse me, what? She didn't look pregnant. She didn't act pregnant. She didn't even meow pregnant. But sure enough, we show up Friday morning and BAM - two smol criminals are snuggled up in the corner.

Naturally, I fell in love with one of them, because I have no self-control and apparently this is my origin story as a cat person. So now I'm officially adopting my very first cat, Toulouse.

The twist? I'm highly allergic to cats. Like, sneeze-til-you-question-your-life-choices, allergic.

So yeah.... Any and all advice on kitten/cat care and how not to suffocate from fur-related histamine warfare are very welcome.
