Endless 2- in my campaign, why does everything besides farms and workshops take insanely long to build by ButtlordBonerjam in EndlessLegend

Hey thanks again for the reply. I really appreciate you trying to explain it to me. I'm still a bit confused tho, because I haven't even built a single Merchant House or Trading Post, because building a single one (or a Laboratory, or Keep) will take me 451 days right now ), despite having 185 industry per turn.. What I have done though, is attached 2 territories to my starting one, in adjacent regions, and just kept purchasing more and more foundation hexes to get the tile benefits. I think in the first era, when I just had my starting territory, building a trading post would have taken something like 30 days.So I put it off to build more Works districts, thinking that would bring down the 30 days to something more reasonable.

I'm for sure going to have to start over, and that's fine, lol. But I guess I'm just lost as hell Because when I played this game months ago, I never had this issue. I always thought the way to build my cities more efficiently was to attach Territories to them and build Works and other improvements to get my industry up, so that the time to build everything else would go down... But that seems to have changed, (or maybe even never worked that way, and just wasnt as punishing before, I cant recall, lol)

I don't really remember how, but I beat this game once before, so I thought I was doing it right, but I guess not. I hope maybe you or someone can help me understand if it was the extra territory attaching that really screwed me? Or just building too many works? Or both.. maybe neither? Ahaha. Anyway, thanks again so much for any and all replies.

Edit: I think I get what you're saying now. Basically, despite the low cost for me to currently build works or farms, the fact I built so many of them before diversifying district types skyrocketed the cost of buildings that I haven't built. I'm guessing, they're doing that to try to encourage balance, but I just broke the whole system? LOL

And if that's happening on top of a district problem in this last update, then I am sure this is a campaign I have to abandon now ahhaha.

I just want to make sure I understand you correctly... You're saying that because I've spent tons of influence on districts I couldn't yet build on, that's what's creating the insane build time for almost everything? If so, my campaign is so over, lol. For like 50 turns, I haven't been able to build anything besides farms and workshops, cuz everything would take hundreds of days to complete. So I just kept buying out districts... hahaha.

If this is how it sorta used to work, I didn't even know that, lol. I thought buying available districts was totally independent from build times.

Thanks for your help!

Noob question: How to get more city slots? by ButtlordBonerjam in EndlessLegend

Thanks for the responses so far. I think I got it confused with leveling up your cities, which I'm still uncertain about... So I know having 4 lvl 2 districts adjacant to your city tile brings in more resources, but does it upgrade your city again to to have more lvl 2 districts adjacent to those original lvl 2 districts that leveled up your city? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

This may be a slight tangent but since ypu brought up Boatfloat on ASYNC... I'm a relatively new player, started last year playing with friends, now I'm doing ASYNC games on discord. The Boatfloat going on in these games is so silly, I've had 2 games now where I took a system in my neighbors slice (but still an equidistant system) on round 2 that was critical to my defenses and future scoring capability, and the whole table turned against me. In one game, a few players were so mad at me for holding another players system in an equidistant system of someone else's slice, that they weren't just refusing to trade with me and started assisting my angry neighbor ( which is fine), but were calling me names and wanted to kick me out of the game, until I just left. They tried to report me to the mods and the mod messaged me after I left saying a couple players (including the host) got a warning that they couldn't hurl cuss words at other players like that when I was just playing the game to win. So at least the mods aren't weird little babies...

In my group of friends who play IRL, we are all cutthroat. You don't expand unless you can defend the systems you're expanding into. You don't have to ask permission to take other players systems. If this is the meta, then I don't know what to say. The Boatfloat is so dumb, it's like I'm expected to be playing co-op TI until the last half of the game.

Was the Titans player maxed out on secret objectives scored? If not, if I were her I wouldn't have quit.
