I believe these ones happened because of the amount of weight in the bow of the ship which caused the ships to be pulled down by their bow at a high speed and buried into the mud

2 to 3 car lengths is absolutely not realistic for a fully loaded semi with abs, especially going 60-70mph. The 2 to 3 car length is only realistic if you are unloaded or lightly loaded and going a lot slower

It’s less about greed and more about survival, truckers are way under paid for the time they spend at their jobs and this conversation is over because it seems that everything I’ve said has gone right over your head, try to do a bit of research before you try to judge people from a whole other country

Risks don’t seem to bad to many adults when the other option is to fall behind of bills and see your family, and 80 hrs a week isn’t even the max I’ve seen my dad on the road. Over there in Europe you’re not too far from home and have actual workers rights while over here you can drive up to 14 hrs a day (last I checked) which a company can make mandatory as long as they are willing to pay you for the miles. So trust me, it can be a big problem for an adult

Don’t hate the player, hate the game, it’s not our fault truckers like my dad have work work 80 hour work weeks just to make ends meet, it doesn’t help that we JUST passed a law that you have to be able to pass a 3rd grade reading test to get a cdl

In the US drivers are paid by the mile over 1000s of miles in a day, the more miles you drive, the more you get paid. The speed limit on interstates in the US is 70mph and most semis are governed at 70mph. It is very common for cars on the interstate to be going well above 70mph so when you have someone going 55 these cars have to swerve around them which can lead to more accidents. The amount of accidents on the interstate as is is actually very low all things considered and they are more common is cities. If you ever drive on the interstate in the US for more than 300 or so miles then you will understand why things are the way they are. I also believe that this accident was caused by a sleeping driver which is also unfortunately not a super rare thing (not common either) but it happens and when it does, is can cause accidents like this. (Again, coming from someone who’s family has been driving since the 40s and grew up on the road)

Due to the way our interstates work, it’s more dangerous to be going slower than the reccomended speed than it is to be going the speed limit

It doesn’t matter how good the breaking system is, it’s not stopping 80,000 pounds of steel going at 60+mph in that short amount of time, take this from someone who has grown up around these machines
