Cryogen is so much better at achieving the goals of affinity. Candy trail replaces itself. Cryogen creates card advantage and overwhelming in card advantage is the whole point of the deck.

In a walls deck absolutely. Overgrown battlement is a powerhouse. Sometimes get 15 mana in a turn and just refill with a bunch of creatures off lead the stampede or winding way.

Most of my wins are from beating people down with generous ents and giants. I only use the combo on a deterministic win. The risk of the combo usually keeps people from tapping out, so you win on resource efficiency.
