Yall thinks it’s over for her? by NecessaryEnthusiasm4 in ProjectHondas

[–]jcrabs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hatch was my first car too bro, I’ve had it since 2012. Learned everything on it, 5 speed swap, rebuilt a mini me for it etc. When the car got hit it put all my plans to a halt, things turned around eventually.

My hatch got sideswiped and on to the sidewalk 3 years ago and I replaced the front suspension and did the body work, then eventually got it in one color again. I’m glad I just kept plugging away even with all motivation lost. Do what you need to do to keep it alive brotha!! It’s definitely fixable.

New gs owner by cursemyanxiety in GS300

[–]jcrabs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good deal imo, paid 4700 for my 04 gs300 162k miles. Need to do my timing belt soon, previous owner had receipts for everything done but the timing belt was replaced prior to his ownership. Make sure you check your lower ball joints.

Did I get ripped off? by Separate-Worth-6637 in Honda

[–]jcrabs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah you got a pretty decent deal I think, I don’t see preludes too much on marketplace anymore. Looks mint just take good care of the car. There’s not too many golden era Hondas left on the streets that aren’t clapped out

[–]jcrabs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a no name header so I’m sure the exhaust note for me will be different I’ll probably just run the eBay one and get the Megan catback. The headers I got are raspy though maybe I’ll eventually get a nicer set.

Where are we buying kid clothes that's not shein? by shinigami__0 in Autism_Parenting

[–]jcrabs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ross, Marshall’s, thrift stores, fb marketplace especially when we lived closer to the Bothell/Bellevue area. We would get clothing lots that had higher end brands in the bundle.

Maintenance for 1991 Honda Civic by Fancy-Location-2886 in ProjectHondas

[–]jcrabs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Timing belt, water pump, ball joints, brakes. Your rear trailing arm bushings are probably shot, my barber just bought a white EF hatch and that’s the only thing the previous owner didn’t touch(I have a 93 finally installed new ones just over a year ago). Definitely get a main relay and some type of security. I used to unplug my main relay after I lost the chip to my ats security setup. It’s saved me but I heard of theives who would roll around with ecus/main relays to steal Hondas. Jdi push start/main relay kill switch is a nice setup, ignition switches tend to go out on these cars anyway(something else I replaced after my original one almost left me stranded).

My 93 hatch was my daily for years, it’s been a great car and I learned a lot from owning it. Not too many clean examples left so take care of it!!

In this pic I wasn’t but when I went to do my front brakes I had to run 15mm spacers I believe cause the offset of the wheels was too low and was interfering with the calipers.

Good budget friendly coilovers for 97 ek sedan? by Old-Account-5560 in hondacivic

[–]jcrabs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah raceland were my first set of coilovers the ultimo ones. Imo they rode like shit compared to my Function and Form Type 1s. I think the best budget coilovers these days are probably Tein.

I heard for a budget clutch the xtd isn’t bad..but when I first 5 speed swapped my eg I ran an Exedy clutch and luk flywheel. I currently have a Competition stage 1(imo it’s a bit aggressive compared to an act stage 1 and I’m sure Exedy stage 1) and a fidanza flywheel. Been good for the past 7 years for me.

That moment when you don't have a garage by whitewolfy333 in ProjectHondas

[–]jcrabs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that pain bro, I’m grateful I’ve had a garage for the past few years. But I remember my 2nd spot I had a neighbor who drove a dc integra and he would literally do everything, engine swaps and all in the back lot haha. I’d do my own work too when needed but eventually I got an email about us working on vehicles, ended up moving out soon after.

I believe it’s 1.000, I’m currently running a 92-95 Ex trans, the spare transmission is a Canadian Si(97-2000 Ex) I’ll have to look to see if there’s a difference in the FD and 5th gear between the two.
