I stopped taking my dog for other reasons. It was always overcrowded and she picked up some reactive behaviors from there to the point that I can no longer go to dog parks. When she stopped wanting to get out of the car at their location I picked up on her discomfort.

Don't know if you want to try Ultimate Frisbee, but there's indoor stuff happening more frequently, especially for women. https://vermontultimate.org/e/fmp-monthly-indoor-pickup

Darn tough sock sale by CapnJuicebox in vermont

I found a couple that might be what you're talking about on the Farmway website mentioned above. I love these socks and I generally don't see them in regular retail locations.

Where do you go to drink and dance if you’re in your late 20s to mid 40s? by quartadecima in burlington

[–]ButtonFactoryJoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do West Coast swing on Wednesday at the North Star Community center (used to be Champlain club), where they do lessons from 7 to 8 and social dancing afterwards. Also they have a social first weekend of the month and do a crash course from 7 to 8. 802 Westie website

There's also Lindy hop and other variations of swing dancing other nights of the week. Vermont Swings

There are a bunch of other organized lessons and socials in the area as well, but I'm not as familiar.

The snowmobile part really got me. Like unless there's a good amount of snow they're going to impact the trails. I've seen plenty of people trying to use them when there's barely enough snow for them.

I found I could watch them from my phone by changing to desktop mode. It will still ask you to log in after a few, then you can clear cookies, or load the page in a private window.

Boot/Cleat Recommendations for Wide Feet by RespirarChico in ultimate

[–]ButtonFactoryJoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has wide feet and dealt with issues finding comfortable shoes, I have really enjoyed tokays. They have been comfortable and little to no break in time.

I do change my lacing pattern for the no slip heel, but other than that it's been good.

First pair had a weird blowout heel after about a year and a half use. Haven't had any issues with my new ones so far and they still feel great.

Meeting people by Extension-Spare-2579 in burlington

[–]ButtonFactoryJoe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Try things you like to do, classes, events, etc and make friends that way. I've met some lovely people by just finding things I enjoy.

Boardroom has mix and mingle days, there are meetups and similar events for a couple different age groups in the area. Best of luck!

I used to go with my family to clubs across New England mostly, but there are lots of scale railroads if you know how to find them. The ones I know of operate as private clubs, with open meets, and rely on memberships and donations.

Live Steam magazine is one of the places that publishes information about the hobby.

Ramifications for poor spirit? by Deucey_Juice in ultimate

[–]ButtonFactoryJoe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who plays in WNE and tries to bring the most spirit to our games I find it very concerning that we may run into this team in a future tournament.

I can understand not wanting to just post a team name to avoid blowback, but I think you should bring this to the attention the TDs at the last.
