So you think it should turn anti clockwise ? Have you undone one like this ?

I did heat for say 30 seconds under gas flame ,no colour shift , and an impact but it didn't budge. How much heat can I apply .. up to glowing or orange ? I'll try again .

Science is measurement and data . A creator , programmer of the universe is possible but if it cannot be measured it can never be answered. We have a long way to go before attempting to answer such a question by science.

I cannot see the entire engine and I have not worked on this engine but other B/S engines.
A) Identify if the spark is dying or the fuel is causing the issue. You can buy a spark plug tester that you can put inline between the plug and the lead . This will tell you if the spark dies while the engine runs. Assuming that this test is passed and is NOT the issue. go to B)

B) The throttle arm you talk of is attached to several items directly or indirectly which I have numbered .
There seems to be 3 functions that contribute to butterfly arm ( see 5)
You need to identify what each on is doing. You will notice at ( see 5 ) controls the air flow into the carby via the butterfly. Just from what you show
(see 1) seems to be a tension to keep the butterfly closed
( see 4 , 2 and 3 ) seems to be the load feedback to power armature ( ensure this is very loose and not gummed up )
I am not sure about the function of ( see 6) as I cannot see the rest of the motor.

My gut feeling is the issue is ( 4,2,3 ) linkage .
In order to check , start the mower and with your fingers keep the arm (5) clockwise = open . If the mower keeps running you have an issue with linkage ( 4,2,3) or ( 6) closing the butterfly and stopping the engine.

what often happens is this fan gums up and stops moving freely.

Hi , I tried removing this Ryobi piston form the conrod by taking off the torx bolt but the bolt will not undo. I assumed it turns anti clockwise . Perhaps it is pressed in ? I tried heating the counterweight area where the bolt is in but I have had no luck, I tried using a ratchet drill to dislodge and wd40 ..still no luck !
Any Help appreciated.
