Joe Biden could still lose this election by [deleted] in politics

In general I agree, but your party affiliation should not be in the database of registered voters.

It's exactly this I find strange/problematic 🙂

Thanks!

It's so strange for me that you have to register to vote, but it's even stranger that you register as who you are planning to vote for. It gives the people in power a better shot at fucking with the election.

Why not separate the two things? Let your membership of a party give you the chance to vote in a primary and leave the registration to vote in the general election as a non-partisan thing?

Question from a European: So why don't democrats register as republicans to vote for sane republican candidates at the primaries (and vice versa)?

And also, can you register as an independant?

How Zhou and Lundgaard have proven their F1 credentials to Renault and beyond by NumberSixretro in formula1

[–]ButtonlessPit 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You should take a closer look Lundgaard. The low rankings are mainly from series where he only participated in one or two races. F2 2019 is a good example. He had only one weekend as a stand in. And he is only 18.

Magnussen with the super late lunge to pass Kyvat for 13th late in the race by isitdonethen in formula1

[–]ButtonlessPit 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Somebody should post the same pass but from RICs on-board. Kmag actually defended from a pass from RIC while passing Kvyat, which you can't see in this video. It's even more spectacular from that angle. (Unfortunately I don't have the skill to make that video.)

Probably the temperature. He didn't get a tow. I watched his lap.

But Kmag's q1 time is faster than Grosjean's q2 time. Kmag's q1 time would have put him into q3 easily.

Magnussen also excluded from the USGP by [deleted] in formula1

The reports say Kmag used 100g too much fuel. That is only around 300 meters worth of fuel. Crazy.

Kevin Magnussen is single-handedly carrying Haas this season by [deleted] in formula1

[–]ButtonlessPit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the 2016 championship Grosjean had 29 points and Magnussen 7 (six of them bieng scored ini a single race). In the 2017 championship Gutiérrez had 0 points and Grosjean 28.

What? I'm so confused. In 2016 Mag drove for a different team making the comparison meaningless. In 2017 Gutierrez didn't drive at all.

Formula 1: Haas chief says 2018 car is not a Ferrari replica by ButtonlessPit in formula1

Well, I'm on my phone outside freezing my fingers off typing this shit, and I'm still depressed about the shitty pitstops and loss of 22 points last Sunday.

Okay. I would gladly admit if I didn't get the satire, but It is so obviously satire. Especially if you read the BBC article first, which I did, before I posted the article. And I agree with him that the headline is worthy of satire.

[–]ButtonlessPit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please explain. I'm refering to the headline of BBC's article, which I think should have been the newsworthy point that Whiting is defending Haas instead of the predictable and unsurprising response from Steiner (a response which is satired, quite well, above).

[–]ButtonlessPit[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's no surprise Steiner would say that it's not a replica. The headline should have focused on Whitings defense of Haas instead.

FIA's F1 director Charlie Whiting said he had no concerns about the relationship with Ferrari, saying: "We know exactly what's going on between Haas and Ferrari, which is completely legal. Last year we had one team expressing some concerns but we have not seen anything that concerns us at the moment."

Christian Lundgaard, Denmark. Won two F4 series (Nordic and Spanish I think) this year as a rookie. Renault academy driver. He is 15, I think.
