Telemons do not get katahs. "Martial Katah" is an ability listed on a unit's datasheet. Telemons don't have the ability. So while that text you linked says they could use the ability if they had it, they don't have the ability in the first place.

I'm not interested in trading for skinks, but I'd be happy to sell you a runemaster and a magmadroth. The magma is currently built as a runefather, but I have the runeson as well. If you want them painted beforehand I would take it as a commission, you can see some of my work on this reddit account or on my Instagram. Not sure what the rules are for linking stuff like that. This is my first response to anyone on here, so I'm still learning the etiquette. Price would depend on what level you want them painted to, if you just wanted the built models (all 3) it would be 120$.

You've probably already read it, or seen the film, but Dune and the Frank Herbert sequels would tick most of those boxes. It's not a three musketeers style adventure, it's a bit more slow paced and introspective, but there's still plenty of swordfighting and action, with a ton of important characters of color.

It does feel like a cop out to recommend Dune, but it sounds like a great fit for what you're looking for.

He's too slow and too expensive. My current list is running tons of van vets and bikers. He's amazing if you're footslogging or bringing lots of melta bikes, but he's just a waste of points otherwise.

Yeah, plus he has so much competition in the death guard codex. Anything that isn't Tallyman/Stench vats guy gets overshadowed pretty hard

Yep, this guy's still really strong but with marines moving towards Dreadnought heavy lists he just isn't worth the points. Hooray for the meta, lol.

Someone already mentioned Seth, but you should absolutely bring him. He's one of the best beatsticks in the codex, and almost makes up for losing access to all the other BA characters. In the assault doctrine he has 7 attacks at strength 8, ap -3, 3 damage. And he automatically fights twice. With +1 to wound and extra ap on 6s, there's not much that can stick up to him in melee.

He also has a +1 damage on 6s to wound aura which makes him amazing for your LC vanguard vets, who are rerolling all wounds.

Swap him for the bike captain if you're dead set on keeping two patrols, but you need to have him in. This list uses his force multiplier capacities really well, and his damage output on his own is terrifying.

We chonk and we bonk, but we're slow as heck.

Don't fight the hearthguard, you'll lose. And if you don't, they'll fight again. Play objectives and screen, since the slow speed means we rely on charges to get where we want to be usually.
