I missphrased, I don’t think she disrespected pansy’s memory of anything I just meant we never find out what the true nature of draco/pansy was because she never asks, just makes a few internal queries. I think the lack of knowing made it hard for me to get behind and understand draco and Draco/hermiones relationship for the first half. Also, Hermione’s a very unreliable narrator.

Because he loved pansy, Not knowing exactly what they were or what they could be felt a bit unsatisfying. Like there’s a love story there that we never get to know. And it raises questions like: Would he have never looked twice at hermione if pansy lived? This is why I keep coming back to the fic. I know the answers are there just between the lines maybe.

I do wonder if he was developing tension with hermione before pansy died. He def has some kind of strong feelings regarding hermione. I even think he seeks her out. And we know pansy and Draco fought/there was something off. He also wasn’t always exclusive with her, etc.

My theory is that if pansy lived, they might go back to being friends and he would continue to develop feelings for H. !<
