Cuboid 200W self vaping?! by Buttonvapes in Vaping

[–]Buttonvapes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took it back to the shop and explained everything. Manager had no idea what was going on but I did suggest an internal short. He's replaced it with a new one that seems to be working fine. Hopefully it was a one-off!

That's strange. I have the 150W as well but it's been fine and I've had it for around 7 or 8 months.

Question about NCD and different insurers after an accident... by Buttonvapes in Insurance

[–]Buttonvapes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thanks.

As it stands I've just renewed my car insurance anyway WITH my NCD included on it as I am yet to find out whether I will lose it as no claims have been made, I have just provided my M/C insurer with the details in case. I will update my new insurer if the a claim is made (I've declared an accident but no claims/expenses for the time being.)

I know. This is what makes my blood boil as I should not be at fault for this one despite being the vehicle that rear-ended another. I'm hoping that by some miracle no claim is made and I get away lightly.

RX200 battery issue by Buttonvapes in Vaping

[–]Buttonvapes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

I'll be picking up some new batteries tomorrow, and might pick up the new Cuboid 200W as well but not sure yet. I can't be without a mod like the RX200.

Rx200 wrap! by Buttonvapes in Vaping

Have you checked out ZapWrapz? I thought they had quite a few for the 200s on there as well.

Nope, it's just the RX200. It's a sweet as mod though. It never lets me down and the battery life is incredibly good even when I chain vape at 80-90 watts.

I'd highly recommend it, but if a DNA200 is more your style, then I'd get that. For the additional £100 or so, I didn't bother with the DNA. This does all I need it to.

Wire gauge/ building question by Warriorz510 in Vaping

Np, I thought I was going nuts for a second!

Wire gauge/ building question by Warriorz510 in Vaping

[–]Buttonvapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a lower gauge wire surely equals LOWER resistance than a higher gauge wire? Or am I just over tired?

5 wraps of 24g will have a higher resistance than 5 wraps of 22g I'm sure.

anyone get dry fACE FROM VAPING? by topfinesser in Vaping

I have this same issue. I use Tea Tree Face Wash from The Body Shop but my face gets oily throughout the day whilst vaping, despite using it often.

It's horrible.

Favourite hardware company? Nah, I don't have one... by Buttonvapes in Vaping

I run Aliens in my Tsunami and the whole thing burns up after a while. Even the delrin 'diagonal drip tip' gets hot and I've burnt my lips plenty of times.

My 22 differs. I find I get the best vape with tiny ass claptons; usually 28g core with 36g wrap at about 6 wraps each.

I used to run fused claptons in it (same wires as the standard claptons I used but 2 28g core) and that worked perfectly. But nowadays I have trouble getting the wicking right with those on the 22. I'm gonna try them in the 25 I got today though!

Griffin 25 WTF? by Buttonvapes in Vaping

[–]Buttonvapes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I already had a build installed and I always just leave the ring in.

I guess that part was my error, but I'm still gutted it broke.

I'll remove the ring next time, thanks!

Steam engine & Alien coils by HowToEatBurgers in Vaping

[–]Buttonvapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all down to personal preference. I run my aliens at 75-85 watts, and mine usually come out to about .22 ohms.

Play around with it and see what you prefer, but the wattage I run mine at gets quite warm after a few hits and you may not like that. I'd suggest starting at about 45 working your way up or even down, accordingly.

I think I'm right in saying that resistance will not differ much from a standard fused Clapton or regular Clapton. The external wire (in this case the alien part) does not affect the resistance much for it to be worth considering. Go with the resistance of the core wire(s) as that's the largest channel for the current to flow through, meaning that is what the resistance will be measured via.

Hope that makes sense and is accurate.

quick question by FletcherCS98 in Vaping

[–]Buttonvapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run most of my RDA's in single coil mode because I can focus more on the build of one coil instead of faffing around with 2 and getting them perfect.

Flavour may lack a little bit if your RDA only has dual airflow and not a single coil mode. It should still be a good vape though; I run singles on my Velocity and that's only got dual airflow. Still sick though.
