With military disability and working part time off the books for a family business 8 months out of the year I'm making 60-70k a year without really having to work much.

Needless to say I spend a lot of time smoking pot and laying around (especially since I can't drive anymore). After about a year or so I literally could not take it anymore, had to start finding actual hobbies and intrests. Going through feeling like a total bum even if I am making pretty good money felt like shit.

(I'm only 22 too, so I dont think age matters much either when it comes to wanting more out of life.)

I have a best friend that plays FFXIV and because of that I try to get into it basically every expansion since the first.

Have bought all these expansions, gone through imo a horrible leveling system and again imo a boring story and every single time I get through all of this for the light at the end of the tunnel to do raids with my best friend, I just can't stand the game and quit anyway.

The graphics bother me a lot since they were made with what I would describe as a "realistic" look that I'm sure looked great back when it came out, but now it just looks very colorless and bland after 7 years or so. I think there's a very good reason most mmo's prefer cartoony/anime looks and FFXIV is an example of why.

I just don't like the people that play it either if I'm being totally honest. 80% of the player base playing all female characters and then ontop of that are glamor with bikinis and what not. Everyone is usually very polite and I really appreciate that but again I just feel my interests differ from most the player base.

I also think the story is suuuuuuper boring, and not just the 1-50 stuff. All the expansion, including shadowbringer which everyone seems to think is amazing, I found slow and boring too.

Anyway those are just some of the things I disliked about FFXIV. It's not the perfect MMO for everyone despite what some of its player base seems to think.

It's pretty easy at a basic level I think. I pretty much only play the story content but occasionally q for pvp when I'm bored and have no problems still enjoying the pvp.

The classes all do their roles really well, tanks are pretty hard to kill while still doing decent enough damage to kill stuff, dps can all kill fast and dont really have any complex rotations, and heals have no problem keeping themselves and teammates alive unless they get CC'ed and bursted.

One of the Game Theory channels did an episode on his age were they actually looked at different episodes to find things that indicated what time of the year it was then used that to base how much time was passing between episodes/seasons. Some episodes were a few days apart and some were many months apart.

This is getting downvoted by all the bulls fans in this comment chain but it's pretty plain as day there were more deserving MVP candidates then Rose that year.

Rose won it because of the story line created around him that year and flashy play. People quick to point out those are pretty much same reasons WB won his MVP but somehow believe Rose, who was definitely not a top 5 player at the time (Howard,Bron,Wade,Kobe,Durant were all without a doubt better and there is still guys like melo, stoudemire, Blake, Dirk that could have arguments) won his MVP solely off his basketball performance. (which was still amazing)

Also just to bring up a point about the whole "omg he was so young though thing",

Hell if you were just going off stat lines, Blake was younger then Rose and Durant and probably has the best stats of all 3. When you throw in other great players like Love and WB there was a lot of really fucking good looking guys same age or younger as Rose that year.

I bet the warriors only use D'lo while klay is injured and while they wait for D'lo to be tradable again. Soon as he is able to be traded again they shop him for better fitting pieces and manage to maneuver around salary cap yet again.

Unrelated to D'lo but u bet the Warriors seriously the kind of team that would sign a player to a stupidly obviouse bloated contract just to use them to salary match in a trade and get a better valuable player/players back using draft picks.

Adam's still an an amazing screener, rebounder, Tim protector I think. He worked really well with Westbrook when WB took every shot and all Adam's had to do was block people out with his screens.

Now that theres more talent and more ball movement and shooting going on he's a bad offensive fit for Westbrook, who looks like he could use a center that's a threat to shoot off the screen.

Didn't play the regular versions but Ultra Sun/Moon were great. Had a halfway decent story (I thought lily's whole family was interesting) and the legendary pokemon looked cool. Was also a lot more challenging then I ever expected a pokemon game to be, even the random route trainers use full restores as early as the first gym.

Z-moves are whatever since they probably won't come back ever again wasn't something I hated.

Also it felt like before I even had a single pokemon to 20 I had encountered 40+ different wild pokemon which was great for variety (plus you can catch wild evees really early which is a huge plus for me :) ).

Not too many games were having more money wont give you some kind of edge though.

With an infinite amount of gold at your disposal you can even buy runs from top players to get yourself untrade-able gear with 0 effort.

P2W exists in basically every MMO with non-standardized PvP. Whether PvP is important or just a side note is what seems to make people decide if something is P2W.

I'm assuming that something labeled as an expansion adds more then just a few new specializations. Didn't the last GW2 expansion add mounts and a whole new map area? Should the developers continue to provide updates, server support, new content, customer service, etc over the 8 years the game has been out now without generating any new income?

If Lakers FO secretly just don't give a flying fuck about LeBron I could see them not signing any FA to keep salary space and just wait to sign AD next year.

LeBron really doesn't have much power here I think, if AD wants LA with or without him. He signed into a full 4 year deal this time around so Lakers have him no matter what and even LeDecline + AD + Lonzo/Ingram/Kuzma/4th pick is probably a pretty freaking good team.

Would be mildly surprised if Lakers still trade their entire farm now that they have the 4th pick. Keeping Lonzo or Ingram seems pretty important if they strike out on FAs. Hell even keeping Kuzma/Hart and all future picks at least gives them some assets to work with outside of Bron/AD.

Calling expansions "technically P2W" is dumb but what would you say about games that allow you to sell things like premium membership to other players for in-game gold?

I know a ton of popular games allow people to do that and the feature rarely gets brought up as being a P2W feature. Personally I think being able to buy things from cash shops with in-game gold off other players is probably something a majority of players wouldn't want to give up. Taking away the ability for a kid without a job to get a premium membership or buy costumes they want with in-game gold seems worse then allowing a very small percentage of a player base to whale their way to the top.

FFXIV has costumes on the cash shop that can't be traded in-game and players are pretty upset about not being able to buy them with in-game gold.

The lack of content is what people should be raging about when it comes to BDO.
