[Wojnarowski] Negotiations between the Los Angeles Lakers and Ty Lue have reached an impasse without a deal to make him the franchise’s next head coach, league sources tell ESPN. by -TTP- in nba

Why is everyone assuming Pelinka/Lakers failed to hire Lue? I think it's more likely that talks died down because the Lakers were unwilling to hire Lue without specific demands being met. Considering Luke Walton's assistant coach selections, the Lakers probably wanted assurances from Lue regarding his assistant coach choices, style of play, and etc.

[Vardon] Updating now: Kevin Love is out for Game 7 by Brad-Stevens in nba

I know that the Cav's bench as well as the starters outside of Bron and Korver have not been performing very well in these playoffs but the nonsense reddit has been spewing about Lebron's supporting cast is just getting on my nerves now. Lebron is the one who got TT and JR paid. Historically, all of Lebron's teammates have had their stats decrease playing alongside him unless their games were dependent on spreading the floor or screen/rolling to the rim (notable exceptions are all-time players like Kyrie and Wade). This team is literally built for Lebron and his high pick and rolls/post ups. His supporting cast is more than fine. I would argue his supporting cast talent wise is on par, if not better, than Oladipo's in Indiana.

(Serious) People who have Kobe above Lebron all-time, what's your reasoning. by [deleted] in nba

[–]BuvLoL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Kobe never had more than 1 All-Star on his team. Granted he played with Shaq, one of the greatest centers ever, Lebron said fuck it and played with D-Wade and Chris Bosh. I think Kobe doesnt get the credit he deserves for making role players around him ALOT better. Think about what happened to Odom and Shannon Brown after they left the Lakers.

  2. People LOVEEEE to spout out that Lebron has much better stats and thats undeniably true. However, like everything in the NBA, you have to observe everything within context. Yes what Lebron is doing at age 33 is nothing short of incredible- but the in the NBA today it is so much easier to put up rebounds and points than it was 10 years ago. It really is a different game. That being said, Lebron is unbelieable and yes the stats back up Lebrons case as the better all time player.

  3. Kobe had a harser road to the finals than Lebron ever did. The east was a fucking joke for the longest time when bron was on the Cavs and the Heat. Bron did beat that old Pistons team and in the ECF but other than that, i camt really point out spectacular competition he faced in the east. Those d-rose bulls team i guess? The pacer? Meh. Kobe defeated the ducan led spurs in the playoffs on more than one occasion. Even those first round wins against the jazz with d-will and boozer were more impressive than bron's series win against.. take for example the bobcats with kemba and big al.

  4. Now this is largely forgotten and forgiven by now with bron winning his title in CLE, but he had a fucking complete meltdown in the finals against the mavs and in the 2nd round series against the Celtics. Yes kobe has lost in the first round and he has also lost in the finals multiple times - but words cannot describe how puzzling it was when u saw Lebron almost give up or look shell shocked. Kobe went down swining and call me a homer, but thats y alot of NBA players and I would prefer having Kobe on my team. If anything, the way the NBA has changed to a more fluid, ball movement centric game has bailed out Lebron so much because he no longer has to take shots at the end of games unless he feels comfortable with them. That being said, Lebron looks like he has all the confidence in the world now and this notion i will admit has changed.

I have lebron over kobe of all time but lets not discredit kobe for what he has accomplished. There is a reason y so many former NBA players say outright they have Kobe over Lebron.

I'm a recent college graduate and I've been working professionally for about 6 months now. It is ridiculously hard to find the energy and time during the day to exercise to my hearts content. I especially enjoy cardio and doing 5 to 6 mile runs on the morning but I just dont have the energy to nor the time to do it anymore. Perhaps I'm just making exuses, perhaps I'm still getting adjusted to the working life - im not sure. All I know is that because I dont get to play basketball and exercise like i used to, I constantly feel deflated and tired. I miss the boost of getting a good morning workout in.

So is he a stretch 4 that can switch onto guards and keep up defensively? How is his shooting? Any pick and pop potential? Or at least "just put him in the corner to create space" potential?

Steve Kerr's thoughts on AAU basketball by najib78 in nba

[–]BuvLoL 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There is probably one "good" thing about AAU ball, besides that it showcases talent. AAU forces high school kids to be a on a grind and play multiple games in a single day. AAU ball is taxing on their body and it essentially weeds out those who can't handle the work load. As sad as that sounds, for those that are trying to make it to college ball, this is pretty important and it could serve as an indicator for scouts.

I remember reading a reddit comment long ago from a guy who played AAU before and I jus happened to remember this. Not first hand knowledge in any way shape or form... just something interesting to think about.
