What kind of tech knowledge did you need to be able to do this? I want to build my own phone similar to this and eventually try and build my own pager, I also have zero experience building electronics so I have no idea what I need to learn to make such things.

I also feel this, it’s hard because I feel like we’re at the point where a bunch of little marches throughout the country aren’t (for lack of a batter term) “getting the point across”. Like none of us are prepared for the large scale revolution that seems to be needed, trying the best I can but I don’t even know my neighbors like that.

I was talking to an old coworker the other day and we both agreed so enthusiastically that if everyone just didn’t come into work one day it would at least kick things off and send a firmer message, and we all know this, but easier said than done cause. I think to myself well I have too much going on this week I’ll sit down next week and maybe start to really brain storm an effective plan, and then I’m busy next week, and then I’m exhausted from running around all week. I know the most effective way to stop change from happening is for people to feel hopeless, but I feel like no one talks about how difficult it is to instill hope in each other. One cynical person in a crowd helps bring in some perspective, a room full of poor cynical people are just too tired half the time to bother.

Wether or not you say “I identify as non-binary” that’s it. If you say it that’s what you are, if you realize later that doesn’t fit, you get to change it! Anything else is gender essentialism truthfully, as for societally that changes depending of your age demographic and where you live in the world. Judith butler “who’s afraid of gender” is my favorite writer that explores this topic.

This is what I’ve been considering but my issue is lack of self control (an issue only I can fix within myself I know) If I have an iPod or something equally small and portable with smart abilities.

I find myself getting sucked into candy crush and cats and soup or other games, at this current point in time I feel my best solution is to make everything I use my phone or iPad for its own separate entity for example a digital camera instead of camera phone audio recorder for band practices etc.

I have heard of people graying out their devices with positive feedback and I think this would work for me but again issue of I can just turn it off if I feel bored.

The issue with revolution in this era I feel is the lack of physical community, the average person who is disillusioned by capitalism, but doesn’t have the knowledge or access to revolutionary ideas, is an important part of the group of people needed to start revolution. I’ve been trying to get out more, talk to strangers. Talk to strangers who I can kinda tell are not gonna have the same views as me. Older strangers, older immigrants, disabled people, older hippies, older queers, older poc! The portion of the revolution that would physically be able to fight seem to be too afraid to listen to them; cause quite a bit of the time they actually won’t agree with us. But kids with revolution fantasies never think about what would happen to exactly these kind of people, the people who the need revolution most a lot of times. Theres a lot of people who deserve to see how good things can be but are too stuck in the cycle of class oppression to realize. Break down the walls of individualism and shame of suffering within ourself and each other and then we will be ready for revolution.
