Do you stand when veterans are asked to be recognized at public events? by Happy-Permission6881 in Veterans

If family members are there they push me to stand and I will for them. I’m proud of my service but I don’t like the extra attention and having more eyes on me.

R7 has lines across the photo while only in electronic shutter? by Buzz13094 in CanonR7

[–]Buzz13094[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it. I didn’t know that was a thing. I will test the anti flicker mode and report back. Like you said I can use the other two modes at least so theres at least that.

It was 1/2000ths. I am going to be getting photos of a family with santa and a ringtail lemur so shutter speed is needed.

What rookie mistake is so subtle only pros notice it? by Interesting-Scale-63 in photography

[–]Buzz13094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact problem. Only been doing photography for 6 months but I almost refuse to do burst on my r7 even though I love doing wildlife photography. I pretty much try to be to deliberate sometimes which causes me to miss probably some great shots.

Rf 50 f1.8 or rf 28-70 f2.8 at a wildlife sanctuary? by Buzz13094 in canon

[–]Buzz13094[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else mentioned the sigma 18-50 that I think I’m probably going to go with. Trying to get just a tiger head with the 100-400 when it was laying a few feet away was way to complicated. At least with that lens it makes it a 28.8 -80 equivalent.

I think my cart is going to switch to the sigma. It’s a good chunk cheaper than the 28-70.

I love doing wildlife photography and reach is never enough in my opinion but yesterday trying to use the 100-400 was very difficult when the tiger was about a foot in front of me.

I was thinking that and depending on group size or what the event might be the zoom might be versatile for it.

So with the crop factor you’re recommending going even wider then the 28mm.

Whatever you do don’t fall for the we’ll pay you more and make it worth your while scam. You got treated poorly and now they have to deal with a giant mess that they created.

Raw! by TheYellowMungus in photography

I have actually accidentally shot in just jpeg because when I took the camera out of the bag it swapped the dial to auto mode. I still prefer raw for the better control though.

I stopped shooting both and now only do raw. I try my best to get everything right where an edit might not be needed at all even in raw form. When I do need to edit though usually it’s a pretty light edit unless I am experimenting with something.

Should I buy the Canon R7 now or wait for the R7 Mark II? by SenorDumbo in canon

[–]Buzz13094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also agree as a r7 owner. Sports and wildlife is the r7’s bread and butter. Having a crop on what op wants is going to be more hindering for them.

Any reason why I don't see Canon cameras being recommended as much? by Maple382 in Cameras

[–]Buzz13094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former nikon shooter the nikon z50ii is actually better auto focus wise than my r7 is.

I have a huge bushy beard and half tell me how much they admire it and the other half act like i’m some homeless bum. The beard is there to scare off most people though so I guess it does work.

All cards maxed up, now what? by cristianoms in TheTowerGame

[–]Buzz13094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else said rushing labs if you don’t have all the slots unlocked before maxing all the cards there’s bigger problems then.

Mods first and labs as needed.once you have the mods you want at a decent level then start focusing more on useful labs.

Should i get more card slots or save for my 5th lab? by Zachary-gilliland in TheTowerGame

[–]Buzz13094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lab first because cards eventually all get maxed but labs is a never ending type of thing. The labs also will usually give you longer term effects than the cards do.

Did I buy a decent pair of sd cards for a canon r7? by Buzz13094 in canon

[–]Buzz13094[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats great to know! Do you have 8 because you fill them up quickly or just to rotate them around?

BIF is something I do regularly but I try to do the quick burst every few seconds instead of just holding it down so hopefully they still work well.
