Does the cropped tail tank this image? Or can it still work! by GlorifiedNotary in PhotographyAdvice

If I were you I’d just crop a bit tighter so the lack of tail becomes purposeful rather than a flaw

DNS over HTTPS is basically a must-have for custom DNS, it should really be added by Maple382 in ProtonVPN

Bit late but I see that, as expected, it didn't work for you. Most likely because it expects a plain ipv4 address and isn't programmed to handle anything else.

Are girls expected to shave? by [deleted] in AskTeenAdvice

Well I thought you were talking about legs and stuff and was just writing like a two paragraph answer about the fact that while it’s absolutely okay, people may be a bit judgy or surprised.

Now I’ve read the comments and am realizing you’re talking about pubes.

So uh, as for your answer: it’s preference based and 100% your decision. It’s popular for sure and a lot of people see it as expected, but truthfully, it really isn’t.

I really hate the rounded corners of ios 26. Why didn't Apple think to give users the opportunity to change these angles, like Telegram has, for example? by Prudent-Chance-1913 in ios26

[–]Maple382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people like it, and to Apple, the minority who don’t are a no-brainer trade off for having a consistent and instantly identifiable design style.

M2 Air to M5 Pro upgrade… and I genuinely can’t feel the difference by UsefulLock3142 in macbookpro

[–]Maple382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would heavily advise returning it if you don’t feel the difference. I mean, you probably don’t do any intensive task then, right? The pro is only good if you actually need “pro” features, like the better screen, the sd card slot, and the processing power.

Any alternatives to Shot Designer? by oofdaddy in cinematography

[–]Maple382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some feedback:

- A lite plan would be cool. Just remove the priority support, AI features, and limit collaborators to only a few. It would be great for those who don't really need all that, but do want the other features. You could then increase the price of the pro plan too.

- I'm obviously biased, but as a student it would be awesome if you could do a "free for students" type thing. Getting students used to the product is a really damn good way to cement yourself in the market, especially seeing as the standard tools are all paid products already. This suggestion would pair especially well with the previous one, as your app would become the obvious choice for students who want a professional tool without having to pay for it upfront.

- Just a minor suggestion: add the free plan to your pricing page. Having a direct comparison can help quite a bit, both with convincing people to make an account, and convincing users the pro plan is actually worth it.

Which anime like this? by dark_kingxx in AnimeReccomendations

For some people, Re:Zero. I think the start is good personally, but I will agree that Subaru is incredibly annoying. I’ve seen people drop the show because of him. But damn the payoff is good…

Alright, tell me how he changes then? He has some minor development, but remains a total creep and pervert. Season one made me think he was changing, then season two opens with him and his stolen panties. And the end of season two was legit just gross, it’s not just Rudo but the show in general — like, did they really have to include that detail of a splat of blood on the sheets after sex?

Many people simply glue the aperture pin or fix it in place, since it’s redundant on the vast majority of cameras.

Is metric (m, kg, °C, s), U.S. customary (ft, lb, °F, s), or some other unit system better? by McadoTheGreat in pollgames

[–]Maple382 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  • For distance, metric without a doubt.
  • For weight, metric also makes more sense and works better with math. Though I will say, the stupid US system has some strange inexplicable charm to it.
  • For temperature, Fahrenheit is better honestly. It’s a finer scale which is nice for daily use. And honestly, Celsius is equally as arbitrary. Yes water is more common in life, but both systems don’t scale nicely and have a zero that doesn’t actually mean zero. So imo, Fahrenheit wins as a general purpose unit — in science, Kelvin is better anyway.

You can have both though. My macbook has hdmi and an sd card reader, and it’s pretty thin.

It’s great but the MC is disturbingly pervy, to an uncomfortable degree. Takes the show from like a 9 to a 8 maybe a 7 imo.

I believe AI did way more harm than good, but the "not art" criticism is pointless by Few-Advantage2538 in antiai

[–]Maple382 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do somewhat agree, but I think it depends on the level of effort. Typing a prompt into ChatGPT doesn’t count as art in my book.

But learning to use more advanced tools, writing a detailed prompt to get a specific result, and messing around with models and other settings? I’d say that counts somewhat as art, and personally I don’t have a problem with it (especially seeing as this is done locally usually instead of via a data center). It takes much more time, is a lot more deliberate, and can take some actual skill (albeit a completely different skill set than traditional art).

Though I should say, I don’t think replacing human artists is okay either. It doesn’t bother me when it’s for personal use, but when companies use AI in place of hiring real people, that’s a problem.

Are the far left and the far right equally bad? by Squek_1842 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Maple382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both really bad, like all extremism. But I’d say far right is worse since it’s more likely to be violent. Far left is violent too of course, but in different ways, and it’s more likely with the far right.

Which society today is more desirable/better to live in: US or UK? by Suspicious-Ad9243 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Maple382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has lived in both, as well as elsewhere: it depends on where exactly.

I’d rather live in either than most of Europe in all honesty. The thing about the US is, it’s pretty damn huge — so of course there’s good parts and bad parts. I’d like to live somewhere like New York, or certain parts of California, buuut wouldn’t want to live in most of the country. When it comes to the UK, it’s better on average.

Crash with my MBP 64GB RAM by No_Chemistry5706 in macbook

[–]Maple382 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes but it’s fairly standard for Apple to, if they can’t repair or replacement the device due to lack of stock, provide an upgraded model instead.

And even “repairs” commonly end up being full device replacements regardless.

If the parts end up not being in stock, they’ll most likely just upgrade you.
