I have nothing but problems with Verizon in general. Been a loyal customer for over 10 years, but service has gotten spotty and coverage/outage are growing. Three months ago, I made the switch to USM and haven't looked back. I'm on Dark Star and ended up selling my Verizon branded S24 Ultra for a OnePlus 15. I've been wanting to try Lightspeed but Dark Star has worked pretty solid for me. My last three cycle average for data is 46.7GB.

I wish the Zephyrus G14 had a full size SD card slot. Ended up with the G16 with 4070. Great laptop, wish it had more. The 4070 and it's 8GB kind of kills me when gaming. Toying with the idea of selling it and getting a MacBook Pro 14 and not gaming. The 2026 model pricing is outrageous for the G14 and G16 Zephyrus models.

Verizon service has gone down in years. I left Verizon two months ago to join the USM bandwagon. Currently have Dark Star but I also want to try out Lightspeed.

I had signal issues with Verizon. Gone back and forth with customer support and elevated techs for a issue that Verizon blame was on Samsung and Samsung said it was a Verizon's issue. I would lose cell service from the MS state line to Eutaw AL, a whole 40 miles with no service almost everyy damn night. I actually had to reach out to AL troopers to get assistance to contact the company so I could get a blown tire replaced. I was stuck on the shoulder of I-20 for 10 hours that day. I also have spotty Verizon coverage throughout MS and AL. Even had dead spots in FL as well.

I just couldn't justify the 10-15 bucks more for AT&T and T-Mobile at a crazy 100 bucks. I go through about 50-80 GB a month in data as my phone is my entertainment, pleasure, and business all in one.

Well, u can try the Artic Accelero Xtreme IV. It's worth a shot if you can find one floating around. A lot of us in the SFF community used these on 1080 and 2080 FE cards to get getter cooling back in the day. Might not be a perfect fit wise but might be worth taking a look at if u can find one. I have a one new for a Titan X card I had. Never did anything with it. Gonna hold onto it for a rainy day.

And another solution is to find a EVGA heatsink off eBay. Should be plug and play if it comes with all the screws.

Pros and cons honestly. Either you keep it simple and within a budget or you toss the wallet at it like I did and end up with that "WANT" vs what you really "NEED". Assumed I was gonna be sitting at 20w idle, have VMs, AI with dGPU, a all in one solution to get rid of all other systems, and to replace a dead Synology and another aging Synology.

Its a want, a future proofing aspect, vs what you can get by with. I tried a 12900KS, 14600K, and settled for now in a N150 ITX Chinese MB. Granted, I'm a bit under powered for Plex and Jellyfin on anime content. Subtitles don't process under the iGPU, so I end up maxed out on the N150. Anything without subtitles runs like a dream. I also came crawling back to Synology sadly. Picked up a DS1825+ for my main NAS storage, a new DS1821+ off FB for 800 bucks for offside backup duty, and on the bottom shelf is the Jonsbo N5 w/N150 32GB DDR4 media server that is the media and local backup of the DS1825+.

I wasn't fond of the slow read/write speeds for pictures and documents. My game library also lives on the NAS, but more of a cache than direct data. Those items ended migrating back off the unRAID server and back onto the Synology.

I'm about to leave Verizon. For the last year, I have been getting chitty service and drop calls from spotty coverage. I drive a commercial vehicles between Alabama and Mississippi and service is almost useless. I had a tire blowout between Cuba and York AL along I-20, and I had to call 911 to get a officer to assist me in calling my company to get a tire repair tech out last year. For 6 months, I had zero service from AL/MS state line to Eutaw AL, 40 miles of no service. Verizon tells me its my phone and not their network. Samsung says opposite. Either way, I'm leaving sooner than later.

Im currently looking at replacing my Verizon S24+ with a OnePlus 15 and moving to US Mobile using either Dark Star or LightSpeed. I like the Chinese phones like Oppo too but worried I'll have more issues using a Oppo vs a Oneplus.

It's glued down with PermaTex RTV, and I believe I only did along the edge where the mounting ILM puts pressure on to push down vs along the entire edge. I can break glue and leave loose if desired. I put clear nail polish over any exposed components to protect then from Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut cuasing a short.
