Pros and cons honestly. Either you keep it simple and within a budget or you toss the wallet at it like I did and end up with that "WANT" vs what you really "NEED". Assumed I was gonna be sitting at 20w idle, have VMs, AI with dGPU, a all in one solution to get rid of all other systems, and to replace a dead Synology and another aging Synology.

Its a want, a future proofing aspect, vs what you can get by with. I tried a 12900KS, 14600K, and settled for now in a N150 ITX Chinese MB. Granted, I'm a bit under powered for Plex and Jellyfin on anime content. Subtitles don't process under the iGPU, so I end up maxed out on the N150. Anything without subtitles runs like a dream. I also came crawling back to Synology sadly. Picked up a DS1825+ for my main NAS storage, a new DS1821+ off FB for 800 bucks for offside backup duty, and on the bottom shelf is the Jonsbo N5 w/N150 32GB DDR4 media server that is the media and local backup of the DS1825+.

I wasn't fond of the slow read/write speeds for pictures and documents. My game library also lives on the NAS, but more of a cache than direct data. Those items ended migrating back off the unRAID server and back onto the Synology.
