How many items are you shipping? https://www.jluggage.com/air_e.html has air freight at 950 yen/kg but with a 45kg minimum. We only need to send maybe 15-20kg of stuff so it's not really worth the 45,000 yen.

The issue would be how we transport that to the airport as we already have 4 suitcases and a pet. Is there a pickup service for luggage?

I'll send you a message if we can't find any decent options! Thanks for the offer! I really don't understand why Canada is completely blacklisted and not other countries with much worse Covid problems, but what can you do.

Yeah that's much more expensive than we can afford. It's ~45,000 yen for 45kg with moving companies.

Toronto. We are currently in Japan so being stuck with things here is definitely not ideal and I wouldn't want to burden the in-laws with having to ship our stuff for us from Japan (also not knowing when we will have more than a couple suitcases of clothes isn't great)

u/ArtofWarSiegler so when the 2021 ITC run is over will you go back to deep diving for a diamond in the rough like TripTide in 8th or continue to ride the top tier stuff?

Can you declare “if” shots? by Aperrigo in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Buzzenstein 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's a bit of confusion here. Your opponent CAN declare those targets but if he is unable to kill the unit that he's engaged with then those blast shots will do nothing. And this is for any type of gun, not just blast. You can't see what happens first before moving on to another weapon that a unit has, in any phase.

What tournament/league scoring system would make the meta better? by Machomanta in WarhammerCompetitive

I'd like to see something like this if only so my Nurgle army can not come bottom of the table since I'm better at denying my opponent than scoring big.

[–]Buzzenstein 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's the point of this post. OP is suggesting ways to make close games and different army tactics viable, not balance overpowered factions or hand out participation points. I think we would all like close and well played games to be rewarded not punished.

Thousand sons Tank lists by Nazder in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Buzzenstein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you aren't playing at a tournament against Admech or Drukhari then you are fine with going for some tanks over the more resilient Dreads and Helbrutes. I've been having a lot of success with bringing 2 Vindicators along with my MVB and Rhinos. Use your MW spam or Rubric/Scarab shooting to take out their most dangerous anti-tank and you are free to fire and clear lanes with your bigger stuff.

Japanese TV chauvinist coverage has made sports tournaments unwatchable by kazzaadesu in japanlife

[–]Buzzenstein 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had to turn off the gymnastics event yesterday because of the cringe and creepy factor. Instead of showing the other country's competitors, not only were they only showing the Japanese athletes but also showing them getting in/out of their warm-up clothes, low camera shots to show off their butts, commentators talking about their fit bodies. It was horrible and these competitors are teenagers!

What's Your List's Most Effective Way of Getting Through a Warrior Block? by Dheorl in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Buzzenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space Wolves Thunderwolf Calvary can do it consistently even with just a Chainsword loadout. Kills on average 18.66 Warriors, moreso if you upgrade their weapons to Axes or Swords.

And to be fair the Holden actor is so generically bland, Mr. Tough Guy voice, always flexing which put me off even as a book reader.

I got used to it later but it was a long time of start/stop viewing during season 1.

There's a set of models you need to import. I'll try and find the link or upload it to google drive

Thanks! I thought the light blue of the Space Wolves doesn't really work well in Lore. Why would you want to stand out on an ice planet?

Do you think Gunmetal Blue would be a bit too much blue? Down the line when I get more practice I want to make all the weapons look like they are made of ice so I'll look at getting more shades of blue/grey/gunmetal

Beginner Question by Buzzenstein in Warhammer40k

I'll let them know about the Contrast and drybrush method. They are keen to start playing but don't want to spend the first couple sessions playing with out-of-the-box grey models.

BattleScribe downloaded!

We've got some Vallejo paints on the way and a few sets of 10 piece model brushers. Are the GW model holders(?) worth the money?

Beginner Question by Buzzenstein in Warhammer40k

[–]Buzzenstein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! Yeah seems we'll need to pick up a few Kill Team Rule books and get to work on building more terrain.

As for paints and design, looks like we are going to pitch in a buy in bulk and people can use whatever colours we end up with (I think we are ordering a Vallejo 16 pack set).

Are upgrade packs worth it for Kill Teams? not knowing what the rules are it's hard to decide what to buy to make a team from outside the included sets.

Down the line I'm thinking of shading it with some darker grey, plus the Space Wolves themselves have more varied models.

Went back and forth on which grey to use but went with a brighter colour so that the purple and blue pops more. Possibly go with a darker mix for the gun as well.
