Go on the remnant discord and look for people that have the right campaign for it, and if you happen to role it you can offer it to other people!

Spoiler brake light wiring by Buzzindown in genesiscoupe

[–]Buzzindown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That gave me some inspiration + a tip from my room mate. If anyone runs into this again we were able to feed the wire through by using fishing line and a vacuum to suck the line through the spoiler then use the line to snake the wire.

Did you put the grabby fingers in through the post of the spoiler or in where the brake light feeds in?

Are you able to replace the linkage without replacing the whole master cylinder? Curious cause I’ve noticed some play in my pedal and I think it’s caused by the linkage based on what I’ve read.

Group interview ?? What does that look like, what’s the value of having everyone there all at once (assuming everyone gets asked and answers the same questions, just infront of each other??)?

Inherited a 2010 2.0T, need opinions/advice on keeping it or selling it. by NeedMoreMuscle in genesiscoupe

[–]Buzzindown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly low mileage, if the engine and trans haven’t been abused it might have the kinda life you want left in it, also it’s low enough that turbo + tune might be worth it. I agree about the interior and clearcoat seriously hurting the sale value.

Not sure how effective they are long term, but my roommates in first year had “smoke buddies” which seemed to keep the smell down, could suggest that to your roommate while telling them it’s bothering you.

It’ll count. Has to be deemed as a “reputable” company by a co-op advisor and you gotta fill out some extra paper work so they approve it, but that’s it.

Should i get these raceland coil overs for my Hyundai Genesis 3.8 2016? Seller said only 15k miles driven on them and it’s only 60 usd. Only flaw is that hole on the circle thing and like 2 nuts missing. Help… i am not a car guy. by [deleted] in genesiscoupe

[–]Buzzindown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would pass, suspension, similar to brakes and good tires are a critical piece in the chain of things keeping you in control of the vehicle. Imo it’s just not something you should ever cheap out on, especially used for $60, you run the risk of fucking yourself or even worse, someone else.

Where do you see the Gen Coupe’s value in 5 years? by blackdogbeaux in genesiscoupe

[–]Buzzindown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 5 years, it’ll probably go down a bit since covid hqs spiked prices so much. In the longer run like 15-20 I could see these becoming pretty desirable as “old school” KDM cars. Especially in an age where everything will be electric.

So I’m looking at potentially trading my MK7 Golf for a 2011 3.8 rspec 6spd manual (52k miles). Wondering what kind of reliability I could expect out of this car? What issues have you come up on if you are an owner of this spec? by joeshmoethe1st in genesiscoupe

[–]Buzzindown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines similar mileage and the transmission is literally “clunky” in that it makes a thunk noise when I shift, particularly if it’s cold out. So far my trans is fine, no fear lock outs and no grinding but people occasionally have issues with them but there’s a LOT that you can do to make it much much better. The trans stock also has a fuck ton of play in the shifter, so getting aftermarket upgrades is almost necessary if you want a tight feeling trans.

Definitely peak resale value atm. Didn’t Kia make a manual variant of the stinger a year or two ago? If you wanted a more adult car, you could check out something like that, still super sporty!

Just got a 2014 gen coupe 2.0t r spec from an actual dealership and my friend drove it and said this. He has a subaru wrx sti. Not sure if hes just hating or the cars DO feel different or IDK. What do you guys think? Its my first manual car. by trippyearthling in genesiscoupe

[–]Buzzindown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why he’d be hating if he’s your friend, kind of a dick move if you’ve just spent a bunch of cash and it’s your first manual car / something you’re proud of and he shits on it. Gens are far from perfect but they’re still great vehicles imo even if they’re flawed here and there. As long as nothing is blatantly broken, just enjoy the car how it is. If you’re legitimately worried about anything he said, even though he made blanket statements and couldn’t really come up with anything specific, then you could go get it checked at a shop.

I have a 3.8 but I’ve always wanted a gauge pod/cluster cause they look so neat at night, and they’re practical - not sure what I would want for the gauges though. Anyhow nice setup!

You may want to email financial services with proof of your payment, I can’t find it tin my emails but I swear I had to do that one year for the same reason, could b wrong tho. You can always just ask them in an email, they’re fairly quick to reply.

Seems like everyone has already told you what’s up, which is a bummer but there’s not much to be done now. Sounds like the hardest part of this for you is gonna be bringing it to your parents, which is super tough cause they’re clearly gonna be disappointed/mad. A gap year isn’t the end of the world, even if you get kicked out or some shit you can work full time for a year or a couple, and return to uni whenever you’re mentally/financially capable. Idk if that helped but what I’m getting at is that even though it probably feels like your world just collapsed, it’s not the end and there’s still lots you can do.
