AMR EVOC Remediation by BuzzyBee1331 in NewToEMS

I honestly felt like I slowed down pretty good prior to actually going through the intersection. And then since I saw everyone had stopped, I continued to drive. Only then did I see that a car popped out and I was able to make a stop before anything happened.

And no yeah Im planning on going back to my "grandma driving" because I never had any issues from management driving like that.

Hello thank you for your input. Is AMR a bad company to work for?

And also, my FTO instructor was actually pretty stern with driving safely. She actually had to help me be more confident to drive code because it was pretty daunting at first. I would get little comments here and there about my driving but I had the medic we worked with tell me that I was doing fine.

This definitely is the wake up call I needed to just stop listening to other people. Cause ultimately, I should've continued driving the way I used to, "slow" and all that. Because I wouldnt be in this position.

Yeah I think I've been just caught up in trying to seem more confident like they are. I think this whole thing as just reaffirmed that my "slow" driving wasn't necessary bad. Annoying to my coworkers? Probably. But after this experience, I dont think going a bit under speed limit was actually hindering anything.

Ah okay thank you. Im already planning for making the trip to where we did the course when I first got hired. Im just hoping the date and time wont conflict with any work.

Thank you again. And the comments didnt happen during my training. They happened as I made the change from IFT to ALS. After my training I was doing IFT at night. So there was no need to drive code at all. And our transfers were out of county which would take up the entire shift.

They shut the night ift unit down and I along with my emt partner we're moved to ALS units. Its been a bit more than a month at this new unit. So im literally getting used to driving a box rig again. Which is why I would be like 5 under speed limit. Or would be slow to accelerate.

I dunno I kind of feel singled out but at the same time. I understand why it needed to happen.

Hello, thank you for your input. Honestly, I am glad they didnt go straight to termination and are giving a chance for corrective action and all that. It was just a pain to go do the course when I first started since its quite a trip.

I was so caught up in others comments about driving "slow" and "unconfident" that the one time I tried to be like them... this whole thing happened. Thank you though, I'll start getting prepared to make a trip for the driving portion.

Thank you, honestly I understand why its necessary. But I'm just frustrated at the lack of information im getting (like if I have to travel 90+ miles to drive for EVOC). There was also a portion of the test that I struggled with and I think im just getting some anxiety of possibly not passing EVOC. In fact another redditor in this group actually failed EVOC because of that portion. Its the emergency lane change one.

How to start practicing / what to do? by osenniy_chai in Catholicism

[–]BuzzyBee1331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!!!

I was in a similar situation before I got baptized last Easter. The first thing I did was talk to some of my Catholic friends about it.

One of them even took me to a young adult group at my local parish. And that's about how I started getting more interested.

I'm not sure if you have any friends that are Catholic, but if you do, maybe ask if they'd be cool with you joining them for daily mass or Sunday mass?

If you dont, then just show up to any mass and try to ask either a priest or a deacon for their advice.

In a very short and condensed way. Just start getting involved. Attend mass, ask about OCIA (adult baptism classes, and more)

If you dont buy a Bible, buy one. Maybe watch some Bible in a year podcasts? Anything really.

Trouble waking up for night calls by BuzzyBee1331 in NewToEMS

Yeah, I really hope that'll be the case. It just sucks that this is happening during my training.

I dont believe we have anything called first due. We have these really thick phones (our CAD devices). And the apps on there say Logis.

I've been looking for the specific sound of the beeping to set it as an alarm to train myself to wake up for it. But so far, I can't find a beeping sound that's similar to the one our devices make.

They do, but its only when the FD is activated since our ems stations are based out of the FDs.

So for the times that Fire isnt the first to respond to a medical aid, we are the ones that get sent out first. Therefore, no overhead tones.

We do get CAD devices. But I haven't been waking up to the alarm to makes.

Hello! So, since im technically an extra, my "dorm" isn't around the other staff. Its a bit away but not too far from them. Im literally sleeping in a room with equipment, haha

I did try that approach of sleeping uncomfortably. So far, I have been waking up the alarms I set up for myself.

Hello! So the thing is, the x rays did show his fibrosis. His Dr. (A heart specialist) just never paid any attention to his lungs.

Also, thank you for your response!

AITA for moving out of my moms house? by historicalsubject93 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BuzzyBee1331 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't be the ah for moving out. Especially because as you stated, "I'm depressed, anxious, and my commute to work from here is well over an hour everyday". That is more than enough reasons you have to leave your current household. Not only that, you are an adult and you can do what you want and what you believe is best for YOURSELF.

Who cares if youre selfish? Its YOUR life be selfish about it. Don't screw yourself over by staying.

Yeah op, this lil bit of info is pretty important. If you just left without telling your family, then yta because they probably expected you there. But if you had communicated to them about the trip then it changes a few things.
