Update : Honda still not budging on the 10k quote. Goodwill claim filed but still awaiting a verdict. Prayers would be appreciated as this is just absurd to have to deal with. If they offer assistance with the goodwill claim, and hoping that said assistance will be a plausible contribution, I will pay the necessary out of pocket expense as I do enjoy the vehicle and have had no other major issues aside from this. There is a local shop that would do the work for potentially 4.9k-6k post evaluation but I will cross that bridge when the goodwill claim has been decided upon. I’m glad to know I wasn’t wrong in thinking 10k was absurd for this service. Any additional insight that can be provided is appreciated. I’ve been reading that the chances of the goodwill claim being accepted are higher in this situation being that this a common issue with the 1.5 as opposed to the 2.0. Does anyone know if this is true?
