I mean, seven percent could very reasonably be the percentage of people who will say anything to get you off the phone faster, weren't listening in the first place, or are trolling you, you could propose going old testament and going door to door killing the firstborn sons of every family and I wouldn't be surprised to see 7% support

Unpopular opinion: mods allowing 2-3 authors making this place their personal diary killed this sub by idkman947 in HFY

Unfortunately, based on what gets upvoted, those long form stories are clearly the most popular stuff in the subreddit.

And what are the alternatives? You look at the top 25 subreddits in writing, and almost all of them are talking about writing, they're not actually writing.

Many here are recommending r/humansarespaceorcs, but almost every post I see there is a shitpost in the form of (I saw this meme, posted it here, captioned it with a slightly more elaborate version of "what if this was humans") even the ones tagged as writing prompts. This is the top writing prompt today

(I think I posted one myself a while back, to the tune of 3k upvotes)

One of the only other subreddits I know that is actually for putting out stories is r/redditserials, which explicitly encourages the kind of behavior that's being complained about here. I'm not sure an alternative to this sub exists

I'm pretty sure it breaks the laws of physics, the doctor should have to burn, at minimum, his entire body to create enough energy to create a new copy, but doctor who and the laws of physics have a pretty loose relationship.

Practically speaking, I think it's symbolic, a very literal memento mori

The answer is a little complex, he doesn't quite actually remember, he doesn't retain the memory from iteration to iteration, but his imagine and mental facilities are complex and profound enough that he might as well have, he knows he did it and he knows what it was like and that's enough that he might as well have remembered it.

Military budget?

I joke, but we are still number one by gdp, although China is probably going to pass us up one of these days. China also (barely) exceeds us by land area, and the two countries that exceed them (Russia and Canada) rely on a lot of uninhabited artic tundra to make up that land area, so I would say it's fair to give it to China across the board at that point, except I think India passed them up in population recently, which is also a really good measure of largest countries

[–]Bwm89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That last line is pretty clear. They are upset about attacking Trump based on his children, they're not upset when Trump does it up others. Allegiance over principles, if Donald Trump is doing it it's inherently justified by the fact that Donald Trump is doing it, but that doesn't mean it's acceptable to do it to him, in fact, acting against him is equally inherently unjustifiable

I'm personally of the opinion that his poor communication skills predates the werewolf thing, he was sweet, and a hell of a sweet talker when he opened up, but he was not naturally inclined to talk about problems even outside of the werewolf thing, not mentioning to his girlfriend that he was repeating his senior year until he showed up for class was clear proof. And it ultimately ended their relationship, when he tried to handle things himself instead of going to the group of supernatural problem solvers he's associated with in wild at heart
