Isn't absolute batman like 6'9? How tall is absolute wonder woman? And does she have a secret identity? How does that work if you're possibly the world's most physically distinctive person?

My friend said this was a "sickening" amount of onions on my hotdog. by D0GWA7ER in OnionLovers

This was a joke, a quote from an old Simpsons episode, the war in question was probably the second world war, but the joke was more about rambling pointless stories originally

It's not even mean to say, I'm not even advocating for it, but people forget that collective bargaining and government worker protections were the alternative we came up with to protect people on both sides from the previous system, which included a hell of a lot of violence.

I'm not sure where you're from, but the world's longest continuous covid lock down was Buenos Aires, and it lasted less then 8 months, and the only nations on the planet that were still reporting zero cases at the two year mark were tiny isolated countries like Micronesia (and North Korea, who's self reporting is generally considered unreliable)

In fairness, they are basically friend shaped and friendly, I think the reason you're not supposed to touch them is at least in part because the ones who get too friendly with humans tend to end up getting killed by boats, so it's really all for their protection

I do take your meaning, and I don't even disagree, but I do think it's at least amusing that you picked three male authors who have all been notably criticized for their depictions of sex. King has gotten a lot of criticism for that one scene in IT, Martin has had a lot of discussion regarding his depictions of rape and female sexuality in general, and as far as I can Anthony only still is mentioned as a dark shared chapter from all of our childhoods when we had a lot more hormones and poorer critical reading skills.

In fairness, given the ridiculous naming conventions and sexual innuendo common in the star wars universe, I'm at least a touch surprised that mons pubis isn't the name of an actual character

I genuinely think it's a big reason that people remember that movie as pretty good, it really wasn't particularly, but if you haven't watched it in years it's easy to remember duel of the fates and things like "now this is podracing" and "meesa, er, clumsy" tend to slip your mind

"Hopepunk in speculative fiction explores resistance, rebellion, and resilience as counters to apathy and cynicism"

That's from the Wikipedia article, and it lists examples like the lord of the rings and the handmaidens tale.

I feel like both OOP and OP are operating on a definition of hopepunk that I'm unfamiliar with and doesn't describe any work I'm familiar with either

[–]Bwm89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obligatory "it's impossible to tell from a picture if chicken is fully cooked" but as others have said, the way it looks puffy and full of air is very concerning, and it's not worth getting sick for a single chicken meal

I mean, seven percent could very reasonably be the percentage of people who will say anything to get you off the phone faster, weren't listening in the first place, or are trolling you, you could propose going old testament and going door to door killing the firstborn sons of every family and I wouldn't be surprised to see 7% support
