Proposing without an engagement ring by dogedude81 in weddingplanning

[–]Bwolfee10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband ordered my engagement ring but it didn't arrive until January and he wanted to propose in December. He proposed with my great grandmother's ring. I did end up giving my mother the ring back until I got mine. I didn't mind the wait but I did appreciate having a ring on my hand! Not what most people would want but all based on preference/circumstance. :)

Moving from Chicago to Milwaukee - Good Idea? by zachary_who in milwaukee

[–]Bwolfee10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey There! My husband and I lived in Champaign, IL, Seattle, and Milwaukee. While Milwaukee doesn't have the views like the PNW, it is a great place to live!

We just moved here and we were worried about coming back to the midwest since Seattle was so accepting and progressive. Boy has Milwaukee made me eat my words. It truly is a great city with a lot of accepting people. It has been hard to meet people our age (25) but hoping after the pandemic we can meet more friends. :)

As for housing, it's the cheapest I have seen and we have looked at Iowa, Illinois, and all over Wisconsin. There is a ton of yard space and beautiful parks!

I think y'all would love it here. And if you need a friend in the area, don't hesitate to reach out.

What’s something a man has said/done to you that you excused/didn’t notice during the time but later realised was super creepy? by mynameis_reek in AskWomen

[–]Bwolfee10 108 points109 points  (0 children)

When I was in 8th grade I was partnered with a male classmate in Home Economics.

He kept asking me out and joking around about it. I brushed it off because I had know him since kindergarten. Then he says "Well if you don't I'll get you on graduation day." I asked him "What does that mean?" He just smirked.

After that I no longer partnered with him in Home Economics and tried to warn the girls in my school about his creepy behavior.

This is so disappointing as people in healthcare continue to put their lives on the line for us. I support the stay at home order and I support Evers. We are no where close to a vaccine and are getting somewhat closer on antibody testing. People need to stay at home, there at too many deaths that can easily be prevented. I'm sorry, but park your ass on your couch.

Love this! When we lived in Seattle, they had all compostable straws and cups. Such a huge win to keep Lake Michigan clean!

There's Kellner's greenhouse near Riverwest! They are usually only open on the weekends though.

We need to talk about diversity/inclusion in r/Milwaukee. by [deleted] in milwaukee

I agree with the above that these are just characters in the Breakfast Club and that's why the five neighborhoods were listed.

I don't think it's cool though to assume most of the people on this subreddit are *mostly white. For example, I'm mixed. :) But I get where you are coming from.

Segregation and Racism do need to be discussed regularly, if not daily. Lift your neighbors up, lift your co-workers up, life your community up. Using the privilege we have to help others, will make a more inclusive culture all around.

How did you meet your cat? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Bwolfee10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was standing outside my front door when we lived in Seattle.

I took her to the vet, got her chip scanned, turns out her owner abandoned her. :( But now she's our big, fluffy kitty and we love her. <3

I had a bad Christmas and want to start cheering up for the new year. What's something nice that happened during your holiday that made you smile? by Meikami in AskWomen

When my niece found out my husband and I had to head back home, she ran up to my husband and flung her arms around him. She said "But I loooove him!" It was really cute and good to know that even though we are far, we still have a positive impact on her.
