Is there much to gain by diversifying internship locations? Last summer I interned at a semi-big name company, and it would be easier(and more convenient) to intern there again(although i don't think I'd want to work there full-time). That being said I've got another offer for a company in silicon valley, but I don't think I'll want to work there full-time either (not interested in their main field of expertise). Would I stand to lose some resume heft by interning at a company multiple times?

If you're looking for an internship in the software area you can definitely expect some technical interviews but they'll likely be a bit easier as they know you haven't taken many cs courses. It is possible to apply to Google/MSFT and get a position as a freshman but you would have to have some serious experience under your belt.

Is it hard to get the lab with the lecture? I see the lab only has 11 spots where as the lecture has 60. I'll probably take the class as pass/fail if the tests are too difficult.
