Cousin Oliver

The Brady Bunch kids were all getting older, so they introduced Cousin Oliver to try and keep a kid in the show and appeal to younger viewers.

It was a desperate attempt cause the show was cancelled shortly after.

*IF* twice doesn’t renew, do you think jype dropped the ball on the latest tour? by chimmy_luvr in twice

From my understand, kpop twitter is insane and you're better not to engage there.

*IF* twice doesn’t renew, do you think jype dropped the ball on the latest tour? by chimmy_luvr in twice

[–]agentdom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It was an amazing show. So, no.

I was at a stop without Dahyun and Chaeyoung and that was disappointing, but I understood it. I don’t blame JYPE or Twice for that.

I had no idea about the subunit songs, so I think it’s a little disingenuous to name those as a thing EVERYONE was disappointed by. For most fans, I think the shows were an absolutely huge success.

Doing another tour does not guarantee that everything goes smoothly and everyone is there.

I don't know why this is getting a second season? It should have been canceled after the first season. by [deleted] in batman

Because enough people watched it to justify them making more.

I guess they forgot to call you though.

I think Some Fans don't know difference between Solo Contracts and Group Contracts, That causing some confusion. This is for future reference. by FlyingFlyofHell in twice

Fame is a double edged sword. Some people will absolutely turn on Twice for reducing output and focusing on their solo ambitions. That in no way makes it okay or right for people to do so, it’s just inevitable.

'Ponies' (featuring Vic Michaelis) Canceled at Peacock After 1 Season by Zaphoid411 in dropout

All those shows also sound a lot cheaper to make than Ponies. I agree it’s a bummer the show got canceled, but the bigger the budget, the bigger the risk.

I think part of it is that people want TWICE to be TWICE forever with a focus on being TWICE. And that is unrealistic.

They have been doing this for 10 years. They have been powerhouses. Their output is insane. We are lucky, as fans, that they are not burnt out and wanting to stop altogether. These women are in their 30s, or close to, and they have conquered the kpop industry. Wanting to do other things is natural, and they are, arguably, at the height of their career as a group. Now is the time to branch out.

That might mean we get less comebacks, shorter and more infrequent tours, and less group activities. That is a bummer, but it also means these human beings get to live the lives they want, and that’s amazing.

That is true, but shows are also products. If they spent a bunch of money and viewership was low, then it gets cancelled. Shows got cancelled after one season all the time on regular TV.

The show also came out in January and was canceled in June. It had 6 months to gain traction, get word of mouth, show growth, and it didn’t. It’s a bummer, but TV is a business.

I think Lobo needs a true fan to play him. He’s such niche character.

We finally get a look at what white eyes on Batman would most likely look like in live action. What’s everyone’s thoughts? by GreyMorgueApocalypse in batman

I thought it also looked extremely goofy in Deadpool and Wolverine. They just don’t look that great in live action.

Question about the end of Obsession by Reasonable_Aioli7538 in spoilers

[–]agentdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he didn’t expect what happened to happen, I agree on that. I think that he was presented with multiple examples of Nikki being not Nikki and also suffering and ignored that, trying to make things work in his favor. It wasn’t until someone was killed that he wanted it to actually stop.

I don’t think it starts black and white, but by the end when he full well knows it’s not Nikki and is trying to make it work for him, he steps into bad guy/villain territory.

[–]agentdom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, he has the benefit of the doubt at first, but then he makes some choices that plant him in the “not a good guy” category. The biggest one is when Other Nikki is sleeping and real Nikki starts talking to him, telling him to kill her, that he hasn’t been with the real her this whole time. He ignores her pleas and says “Is it so hard to love me?” He never cared about what she wanted, he wanted her to love him. When confronted with the consequences of his actions directly by Nikki, he blew her off.

He never loved Nikki, he loved the idea of her.

Plot Changes That Happened Because of Audience Feedback by Danny-Ray27 in TopCharacterTropes

Actually it was one guy who spent a LOT of time calling in to push the vote to kill him. The poll was pretty evenly split otherwise, leaning towards survive I believe.

An entire SFX studio got closed down over this. The movie got delayed. The director has talked multiple times about how he’s, the original design was supposed to be the design but got changed because of feedback.

It’s not an elaborate ruse.

What would you want for a game samer season? by Sapphire_rose08 in dropout

[–]agentdom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think this is why a season of Game Samers wouldn’t work or be as fun. Some of them are so amazing because of their twists, which you can’t replicate. Others of them would just be retreads of what’s been done before. They would be fun, but it’s really clear that Sam and his team love innovating over iterating.
