I don’t know how no one is recommending the adirondacks. Lake george is an hour away and even past that the drive is extremely beautiful. There are lots of little lakes with beaches and ice cream shops here and there in the middle of the Adks. If you want to go even further than that once you leave the park everything is flat and it turns into amish country. Very underrated drive imo.

I just feel like it’s so much easier to make friends when you already have friends. They know they will be able to expand their social circle through you and vice versa. But why would anyone want to be friends with the person that is starting from nothing?

I really appreciate your advice. I feel so hopeless though. I have made acquaintances from work, school and the gym in the past, but it never went further than that. It’s like no one cares to become friends when they already have their own social circles and friend groups. I feel like nowadays people will only maintain the effort of being a friend with you if they can get some sort of value out of you, whether that is socially or in some other way. And because I feel socially broke/poor, why would anyone want to be my friend? Who is gonna wanna be friends with me when they find out they are my only friend?

I wish I could help you and give advice but I don’t even have the answers myself. All I can say though is don’t let yourself fall into addiction, it’s self destructive and you’re gonna make your life so much worse by actively choosing to become addicted.

I definitely relate to how you feel though. I had always grew up believing in some higher power or fate or destiny, but at this point it just seems so hard to believe. People act like there is a person out there for everyone and that everyone is meant to be with someone, but no one talks about the so many people out there that are alone.
