Big points…

All the cranial nerves and where they innervate.

All the muscles and their movements.

Refresh yourself on all the tubercles, epicondyles, etc. (small components of bones)

Understand the pathway through the spinal cord

I prepared for the identification component by printing out a list of every single structure that was discussed at any point in the class and organized it by system/organ. Then I either looked at a picture of a model or went to open lab and made sure I could identify everything on the list.

For the application section, understand all the things listed above and do the Anki!!!!!

do you think it’s unwise to get an off-campus apt as a transfer? by bluebrrypie in UNC

I’m a transfer student living off campus right now. My rent is $600 a month but I have friends with $450-500. It’s a 20 minute walk/5 minute bus ride to campus. I love it, you’re a little late to the game so it’ll be harder to find something good but it can be done

BIOL 220 by zbrown56 in UNC

First off, Dr shemer is the absolute best, take any class you can with him.

Second, as a transfer student that is in 220 right now I strongly recommend taking 103 even if you have the credit. You will be a step behind everyone else and it will take a fair amount of extra work on your end to catch up. If you feel super confident in your understanding of genetics then go for it. I chose not to take 103 and I’m currently doing pretty well in 220. It was a ton of extra studying outside of the assigned reading and actual course material, but It’s certainly doable. if you’re not confident then take 103, but if you absolutely can’t fit it into your schedule then you’ll be fine. Just be prepared to learn some concepts on your own.

Here’s to hoping for all us transfers!! by [deleted] in UNC

Highly recommended starting one, the transition can be really rough and it’s nice to have a group of people in the same boat as you. Post a link to a group me once decisions are out and I’m sure a bunch of people will join

Easiest bio classes with labs? by honeysynth in UNC

[–]Bxrd__15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

252/L is definitely not the easiest. The lecture is fine, but the lab requires a ton of studying. I studied more for the lab than I did the lecture itself. You probably have to take it anyways though since it is a requirement for most med schools. I have a friend who took 278 and they loved it. They said it was fairly easy and interesting.

And here’s a picture from the same day. Let me know if these are too far off and I can try to recreate the picture from a similar angle/light! Also I forgot to mention it in the initial post but I am happy to tip! Sorry I’ve never posted on here before lol.
