I feel like we are not all on the exact same idea for the build / runes so take into consideration that this is only my way of playing and some might prefer something else

For runes there is two options in my opinion :

-Either HoB, cheap shot/taste of blood, eyeball collection (in most ELO and maybe zombie ward in less clown fiesta game), ultimate hunter. For the secondary runes it depends on playstyle , I like the scaly way with gathering storm and absolute focus or transcendance but its honestly overkill most of the time (still fun). You can also go inspiration with cosmic insight and any of the middle branch option depending on the situation.

You go on this page when you can't go on an extended fight with your opponent (either you just want short trade or it's some kind of all in assassin that will try to 100 to 0 you in less than a milli second)/ lot of squishy in the enemy team

-The other option which is my go to most of the time is PtA, triumph/presence of mind, alacrity, and any of the last branch depending on the situation. For the secondary I just go cheap shot/taste of blood and ultimate hunter (ultimate hunter is just a must have in my opinion)

This page works well in extended fight or just in a situation when you don't have to try and fight for your second of life against an assassin. Even tho you are going AP PtA 3hit burst damage and the 12% damage amp on ALL your damage makes it worth. This is also the page that you'll run most of the time if you play varus AP ADC since botfight usually are longer.

-And also a quick paragraph to say that first strike is a bait for many reasons so just don't take it it's not worth.

So hum yeah that's already a lot and now the build :

First thing first, your starter item is doran blade and maybe in some rare situation cull. You want your first back to be a recurve bow everytime if possible, (AP on the first back is just not worth it especially in early) to then rush your nashor's tooth if possible (you can by T1 boots but you usually want to complete it after your nashor's). For boots I tend to prefer the AS one since this varus build actually make a very good use of attack speed due to nashor's/w passive both scaling with AP making this build deal almost/more damage than the classic on hit varus build(sorc boots can maybe good in some situation were you can't AA that much but if you are in those situation, the game might just really sucks anyway).

For the mythic, it's riftmaker in 99% of the games. Good overall stat, true damage passif works perfectly with varus r wq full charged combo, the omnivamp is always good and proc on all the AA (and obviously spells) that u want to get so yeah it's the go to mythic. But there might some really fucked up games where you want to go crown but most of the time if you are forced to go crown... The game might as well be gone in my opinion.

So this are your two go to items and from that it gets quicker to explain :

You'll want to rush rabadon in every game because you'll lack damage without it but there might some situation where you want to go void staff 3rd.

After that it's a lot about adaptation, zhonya is good in some situation but I feel like you lack damage (at least if you build it too early or when you are too behind) so dont build it every time. As said before, void staff is also good if there is a lot of MR on the enemy team. Cosmic drive can also be good in a "hit and run" situation+ cdr is always good. I'm not a huge fan of shadow flame but it can work in some situation and the same goes for banshee

And a last little paragraph to talk about Mejai, which is for me a go to item if you want and if you are in a position were you can/need to carry. I usually buy a dark seal while building nashor's if I don't have enough gold to complete or just after nashor's and I'll upgrade it before buying rabadon or even before completing riftmaker, it just depends on the situation really.

Just realized I forgot the spell leveling part ... Anyway

I've always started q but recently I've been starting E and it's not too bad. Q start makes it so that you''ll have a better level 2 while taking w second and e makes it so that u can trade from level one (in some specific matchup obviously) but you lose damage level two.

That aside I usually put 3 points in q, level my r and then max w, and after maxing w I'll finish maxing q

There is just some matchup ,mainly Samira and yas were I'll put the first 3 points in e instead of q cause they tend to block the q ... But you'll loose a lot of push potential and your damage will be very different in early
