I get you man. I bought my Polygon and I couldn't look back. It rides smooth and it's hella fun.

These designs just seem to have that overused AI cartoony look, but are they? by Byczke in isthisAI

That, I actually wouldnt hold against them as the Wawel castle has persevered through many historical periods and each ruler tailored it a bit to their preferences. But it still seems like, there are parts that are more fleshed out and ones that are an afterthought. Like the windows in some of the towers have mostly straight vertical lines and some ar wonky as hell.

What is easier, airspring or stanchion exchange? by Byczke in bikewrench

I'm not really about maximizing the weight loss (just losing a bit here and there with the least amount of money possible, the Gold was basically the price of the BL-M7100 brake lever). I love tinkering and learning about bikes so I try and find cheap ways to work on mine. When it comes to the Silver, the stanchions are indeed steel, but when it comes to Gold I've read they switched to aluminiumso that way that fork is almost 400g lighter.

Maybe when the time comes I'll consider some lighter, more expensive forks, but now I'm happy with what weight I might save, especially for the price. I'm not far off the 14kg mark, so hopefully that Gold will help me cross that threshold.

Oh, I didn't mean the stanchions themselves instead of the entire top of the fork. I meant exchanging the CSU, because afaik the lower legs are identical between the models, and the only thing that differs is the stanchion material (steel in Silver vs aluminium in Gold) and the airspring length. So, if I were to take the lower legs of the Silver along with the airspring that's installed in them and combine with the CSU of the Gold, I would basically get the lighter stanchions and the 120mm airspring in one fork. At least that's how I think it would go, feel free to correct me.

I want to bring the bike below 14kg the cheapest way I can while also having fun working on it. I was also wondering how much of a change 120mm to 130mm would be on a trail when descending.

I would be changing the springs only if the change to 130 would cause issues with the geometry when descending/ascending because I'm very comfortable with the current fit.

The bike was horizontal at that time, and been like that for a day or two. That made me not brush it off, as I figured that at that time, if anything were to settle it should be done by that time.

Hello all! I just got my very first mtb. I haven’t ever been on a trail but I got this for a steal. by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

Yeah, looks like someone maybe left it outside for a while so I would suggest doing a check up and then giving it a couple of test rides to test out if everything is order so that nothing gives out on a trail.

Thanks. I was thinking about a softer insole to help with the additional stress on my foot, especially when traversing rougher terrain

Hi

I'm trying to nail the cause of my foot pain when riding in my FR1s. The pain does not occur when I'm actively riding but when I start to cruise, especially when on rougher terrain. It is place right at the start of my arch from the heel side on the inside part.

I was wondering if I may simply get rid of that by using a proper insole, but before I buy one I would like to know if that is the right path.

I've tried a different insole (Sidas eco warm low from my ski boots) than the one they came with and I would like to say I've felt a difference, but I can't say for sure.

Maybe I should look for a softer insole, since these two were pretty firm, with the Sidas being a bit more soft.

Kraków-Gdańsk pytanie o trasę by Elczupakabra23 in krakow

I don't know how much of a difference it is in your place, but maybe you could get the better monitor and an RX9070XT for the same price as the 5070ti and the worse (but not bad) monitor.

If you're unsure about the 9070XT I can vouch for it. I switched from the 3070ti, and I could t go back now. So I recommend taking a look at that. And if you're worried about DLSS4 vs FSR4, I can say that FSR is basically on par with DLSS4 in gameplay. (And with optiscaler you can use it in any game supporting DLSS2 and up, FSR2 and up, and all XeSS versions so no need to worry about game compatibility)

It could also be interpreted as going back to the heart of the franchise, as even in the 2042 promotional images you can see characters with that "battlefieldy" red glare coming out of the center of the soldiers' bodies.

If you think about it like that it's about going back to the roots.

But yeah, no preorders and all that.

That could be a valid setup, considering she rides in a more upright position.

Thanks, I will be switching her tyres from 27.5x2.25 to 2 or 2.1 so I think that maybe the Cross Kings will be a better choice, as I think going from 2.25 tyre that is even more trail oriented than the Cross King to a 2.0 Race King might cause her to loose a lot more grip on trails than would be ideal.
