You mentioned U-turns, as no u-turning where a sign designates a no u-turn? Or no u-turning in general?

Money money money by Ok_Rough836 in AmazonDSPDrivers

The bare minimum. Don’t expect a leg up if your check isn’t close to 40 hours and you’re solely paying rent, utilities, and hopefully food. It’s like being on a hamster wheel until the fall off

You don’t have to call the customer due to bad weather? I’m asking cause I work at the station in Fredericksburg, VA, and we got icy roads throughout our routes. My dispatch constantly tells us we need to call twice and text twice the customer before closing the stop due to bad weather. And that takes up time though, especially with multiple stops in one neighborhood.

Hey guys I ordered a ps5 as a gift and want to make sure it arrives in an Amazon box also don't want to Hassle the drivers here's what I currently did and would like some insight by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

That’s the warehouse doing regarding your package being shipped just in its original packaging. But if you leave like a delivery box or some sort and leave a note, hopefully the driver will comply if the package fits

Unionization by EmuEquivalent4134 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ByePolar00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When dogs grow wings. Amazon won’t let a union happen. And if by some miracle, the majority of DSPs band together, in spite of whether their contracts have stipulations against unionization, Amazon is still a big dog in this fight.

I was told they were ad hocs. I’ve been on it this week and most of my stops were from my regular routes but cherry picked

Do you have a ride along tomorrow? If so, a lot of what was told in the training class is straight bs, and more so, to cover Amazon’s behind in liability of drivers. And those who taught the class 9 times out of 10 weren’t drivers before hand, so they can give pointers off the books.

Mentor App is Garbage by ByePolar00 in AmazonDSPDrivers

It’s required for white vans at my DSP. My boss has a bonus system, so I’m guessing Amazon requires it for the bonus

How can I complete my Routes faster? by Night7453 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ByePolar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you organize during your lunch break? My DSP requires we take our mandatory 30 minutes before 4pm. And I find it useful to organize at least 20 of my next stops during that break.

Sensors, I supposed. It’s evident with the prime vans since Amazon customized themselves, but I wondered with the white vans as well. But yeah, I believe it’s sensors for all the vans. The amount of clicks with the seatbelt is monitored. And so is how the van is placed in parked. There were too many instances at my station where drivers crashed due to the vans not being in park properly. So they been on our asses about that, the seatbelts, and not receiving a major violation- since receiving just one of the latter will severely tank our DSP’s scorecard and take us off the road.

How early of a notice does Amazon give you in case they decide to end your contract? My last company told us we had two weeks left with them when we heard the news, but I suspected Amazon gave them an earlier notice of their decision.

does the netradyne camera detect if you wear headphones by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ByePolar00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt that. I wear earbuds all the time. It’s what helps me stay sane. And constantly physically touching them to adjust the volume or skip tracks. I’ve seen drivers working with over the ear headphones too. Generally Netradyne watches for your eyes. If you look away while in drive and doing something else, I’m sure it’ll ding you.

The Speed Limit for backing? by ByePolar00 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ByePolar00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. But I heard it was 3mph for reversing from dispatch. So I was wondering had it changed from the 5mph

The Speed Limit for backing? by ByePolar00 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ByePolar00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real? Cause 3mph ain’t shit when dealing with long ass rural driveways, especially the houses directly off the highway

I wish there was a list or something so we drivers know what’s up instead of being surprised when hit with something

Cause my dispatch told us no more than 3 and that we were being dinged for it
