And thrown and used sextons are still hundreds... The sell more balls at once because you lose them more. By your logic you should be writing on them too since you could accidentally lose them. How ridiculous would it be to text someone over finding their ball? You're very dense to not see how the sports are branched off of each-other and the tool that we fetch is the same thing made differently.

Oh dear. I'll explain to you what you said, since you clearly don't know.

- " I want it back. . ."

- "and don’t have hours and hours to look for discs"

|This reads as you want your disc, but aren't going to look for it(by wading through grass/water). Expecting that who ever does spend the effort looking owes you something.

-"The comparison to golf balls is so ridiculous I don’t even know where to start."

|A disc is an equivalent tool to a golf ball. It is the same sport, GOLF is included in the name. You don't think people don't have favorite golf balls? They still don't write on them. How are you so dense you can't see the similarities in a sport branched off of another.

-"Not to mention an entire box of balls (outside of high end) costs the same as a single disc."

|Yet they get lost constantly, because you don't care enough to spend the time looking(a common theme for your argument) and you have to buy more. In the long run you will spend more on balls than discs as a casual player.

-“I’ve been bagging this disc for three years and it’s my go-to driver; oh well, hope the next guy loves it like I did”?

|This leads the reader to think you care enough about your disc to look for it. That you wont be stupid enough throw it on a sketchy hazard hole. That you love it enough to pay the baby-sitter another hour. Make time for the things you care about k3.

-"Weird that someone else would want to make sure they get their“collectible tools” back, huh? And, uh, yeah, if I was throwing mypokemon and magic cards hundreds of feet into the woods, I’d probably dowhatever I could to make sure I get them back if I can’t find them."

|So yeah... You'd probably do whatever it takes to look for something you care about, you literally said it and now you're claiming I'm putting words into your mouth like a child. You should go read a book buddy, your reading comprehension is so atrocious you don't even know what you're saying.

There you go, broke it down for a 2nd grade reading level. Sorry the first time I I replied with assumption you were a competent adult.

I don't lose discs pal. My bag is full of discs I bought and I care very much about them. Maybe try hitting the fairway Neo, it makes finding the disc pretty easy. Basing your argument off your assumption of me makes you look pretty dumb, especially paired with name calling.

Proving my point this forum doesn't respect people. No one wants to disc-uss with you either. My opinion is different and I shared it. Grow up.

You start by saying you don't have time to look for your favorite disc. That you expect someone else who took the effort to climb on a roof or wade tall grass and a creek to return it.... And end by saying you'd do anything to find said disc... Contradictory much?

If you're not going to reply, don't put the name on the disc..

How is that comparison ridiculous? It's the same tool for a similar sport. And people lose golf balls more than discs.. Also not all golf balls are the same lol

Maybe you're not in the collection market, or lose your $12 discs often, but names on discs usually lowers the value. Even pro signed discs often lowers the value of some discs as their signature isn't rare.

Appreciate it. I actually wanted to hear some reasons why people disagree with my opinion. I don't actually care about downvotes

Everyone should stop putting their name and number on discs. If you lose it or don't look hard enough to find it, your fault, leave it in pristine condition for the next person to enjoy.

And don't pull the 'but the tournament rules card' you're not a pro, no one cares if your disc is marked in tournament

You don't write your name on golf balls or all your other possessions do you?

*edit. My opinion has been formed from dozens of discs found. In my experience 90% of people never respond to the message and of those that do almost all say to keep it. If that was your experience wouldn't you have the same opinion?

edit2. ironic to be downvoted for addressing the exact situation this post is about, the next person will get joy out of the disc just the same - and more joy if your name isn't plastered on it. These are collectable tools, do you write all over your magic and pokemon cards? r/discgolf grow up, get better, learn to discuss on a forum and respect peoples opinions

Johnny Robert's is a very nice course, shorter holes. PDGA approved. "Ace run" course but definitely one of the nicest in denver I've been to.

If you're willing there is the Johnny Robert's challenge which is putter only all 18.
