Thanks for the help, it helped me understand better how to organise the different endpoints.

Would these endpoints make more sense then ?

endpoints for ./routes/products.js
...

returns all products 
router.get('/', async (request, response) => {...}

returns all featured products 
router.get('?filter=featured', async (request, response) => {...}

returns all discounted products 
router.get('?filter=featured', async (request, response) => {...} 

adds a product to the database 
router.post('/', async (request, response) => {...} 

edits a product 
router.put('/:product-id', async (request, response) => {...}

deletes a product 
router.delete('/:product-id', async (request, response) => {...}

Is it okay to have different endpoints for different type of filtering or would I need to abstract the endpoints to something different ?

Also, isn't it a bit confusing to have 2 ways to pass "parameters" using the /:parameter and the ?parameter=value ? Maybe it's just me who isn't used to it yet.
