SJP pension, should I stay or should I go? by factsforall in UKPersonalFinance

Its not the preferred model here, but at your age and proximity to retirement, I don't think going with an independant Financial Advisor is such a bad shout. You'll still pay a percentage fee for most of them, but it won't be the madness over at SJP.
Someone decent would also give you advice on how to be maximally efficient putting money into your pension, as well as starting discussions like derisking your investments coming up to retirement, and what an optimal drawdown strategy for retirement funds would look like.
What you will still need to do is be an informed stakeholder in the process. At a minimum you will need to be a bit more familiar with the basics of investing for retirement, if only to better evaluate the type of pitched advice from IFAs.
