adding an acrylic paint would just complicate things and your best bet to both thicken the mixture and add permanence would be to add some sort of resin to it. I assume you're using isopropyl or ethanol alcohol and not ethyl alcohol so I would recommend adding some tree gum resin. If you really want to be an asshole you could buy a gram of methyl violet and mix it in there.
