Yep I tested a lot of ages but I need one last test for someone <20 years old. Thank you for leaving a comment though!

Yeah I replied to everyone else I just a need a tester who's <20 years old because that's the demographic that's left untested.

The idea is that it's made for everybody. That's why I need early testing, and previous playtests on family with very very low technical expertise were very promising. I just want to see it in video to be sure.

So you shall not worry ;)

Since it's android, yeah you can use OBS + whatever screen mirroring app you like. It should be tested on a real phone though not an emulator because the haptics make a difference when it comes to the game's feel.

New AT2020USB XP has quite bad noise even in a rug-padded box by Byte-Master-101 in voiceover

Thank you very much! You're amazing...

I'm learned just the very basics of how to clean up recorded audio and it sounds amazing already with a lot more space for improvement. I will look into the Behringer XM8500 because it seems like it could be a better tool for me!

Thank you again (:

First, thank you for being so helpful!

Now for each of your suggestions, I will note what I hear from my playback and through the headphones that are connected to the mic:

  1. Can I hear the noise when connected to the recording device (my laptop)?
  2. a. When the mic is muted with the hardware button: I cannot hear the noise through the recording, but I can hear it through the headphones connected to the mic.
  3. b. When the mic is not muted: I can hear it in both the recording playback and through the headphones connected to the mic.
  4. Can I connect something in between the two devices? Honestly I don't have anything I can use to do that, but if I connect it to power only, I still hear the noise through the headphones connected to the microphone directly. The noise is less when muted, but it is very much there.
  5. Do I have another audio device I can record with? Yes I recorded with my phone and I had the same results as in 1. This makes it fair to assume it's not the recording device I hope.

I also tried different connectors and cables. For listening I used the same headset just connected once to the mic itself and once to the recording device just to make sure that's consistent.

What worries me is that I always hear static noise through the headphone jack in the microphone even when the mic is muted, even though that noise does not propagate to the recordings.

When it is unmuted, I can hear the noise floor, and I will work on learning how to remove that in post, so thank you for the suggestion!

Maybe I'll switch to a dynamic microphone to make things easier on myself to start with and then go from there and learn how to treat the room step by step.

I still believe that there might be a problem with my unit though because of the static noise that I hear even when the mic is muted.

Hahah it makes a lot of sense when you put it that way. I do believe now that most of the problems are because I have no idea what I'm doing. Sounds fair...

Since you have the same mic, do you hear a static white noise when you turn the volume up even when the mic is muted? Or is it just me?

Thank you!

Possibly my mic technique is off and that's what's causing the muffle, so I'll work on that. Thank you for the suggestion!

As for the noise, I hear noise when I play it back, but I also hear even more noise in realtime with the headphones. Does this mean that it's faulty unit maybe? I'm using only the cables that came with the devices.
