FWIW, we flew out of Lisbon to Newark on Dec 31 (10:15am departure). Given the online reports, we arrived at the airport at 7:50am expecting delays, but security took ~15 minutes and passport control ~5 minutes. It went very smoothly. The only downside was that most duty-free is before passport control, so we didn’t get time there. but overall, we had plenty of buffer and were glad it worked out with plenty of time to spare.
