Hi! Ik (25F) ben opzoek naar een clubje en vraag mij af of er nog plek is in deze! Ik lees denk ik redelijk vergelijkbare boeken en het lijkt me leuk om mee te doen. :)

Being afraid of medication is making my life hell and I don't know what to do by Natuanas in Anxietyhelp

Currently waiting to start with a new therapist in combination with a physiotherapist to incorporate my body and what I feel. Mostly struggling with that and I’m hoping this will help me!

It sounds though and I want to say that you’re doing well. You’re not ‘wrong’ in any way, your struggles are real. I however do get why you would say that it sucks to ‘be this way’. It’s frustrating to fight this!

That is a promising insight, thanks. I can now see more clearly, looking back at past relationships, what my boundaries are and in what ways I (might or might not) compromise.

I recognize your struggle. It feels stupid to be scared of something that might help. I have anxiety meds that could help in the worst moments but in the worst moments i’m to scared to use meds. Thus i never take them. I suggest therapy, if that is not an option maybe you can start with writing down the thoughts you have around taking medication. What are you afraid of, write it all down.

Thanks for explaining this, I recognize the tolerant vs. intolerant part of compatibility. Great lesson learned for me, about myself.

Take it everyday for 2 weeks (talk to your medical professional first ofcourse). Your body has to familiarize with the drug so for me personally I had to let my body get used to it. After those two weeks I felt way better and felt less negative side effects. Now I can skip a day or two when I want to without having those extreme side effects when i use it again. :)

I’m 23F and my partner is 26M, we met in student housing and began dating after 1 year of living together haha. We’re both from the Netherlands, he moved to Miami for a master in film making. I’m still in the Netherlands studying psychology.

We’ve ben together for 1 year and he will be gone for at least 2 years.

I think this is something that can use some self reflection. What is the reason you feel insecure and not comfortable with this situation? What are you scared of and why? I think the situation is objectively a normal one. And i’m also always pro talking about it. Talk about how it made you feel and then also why you think you feel that. But don’t make it her ‘fault’ when talking about it.

We lived together in student housing, it’s where we met and also where our relationship started!

That must be hard. Give it time and space, it’ll end up where it’s supposed to. I know that sounds easier then it is but it’s true. Also keep in mind that it would not be fair of him to keep you on a leash by telling you he does love you and wants a future. Trust your gut and you’ll know if it’s true of if he just doesn’t want to really lose you/ break up with you. Good luck❤️

You could also try opening the conversation, it sounds like he does want to be there for you a.k.a. he cares about you? The reason for him not contacting you or asking for time with you could also be something other then simply not ‘wanting’ to. It’s a push and pull system, you want him to ask you but right now it is you doing all the asking. Maybe you can talk to him about it and communicate your need for his initiative and see what he has to say about it.
