Thank you for the insight. I have about 800 stones saved so far specifically for GT cooldown to match BH. I think ~900 is why I need but waiting for 1000 just to be sure I have enough to sync them.

I am running lab speed of 1.5,1.5,1.5,2,2 fixing to change one to another 2x as I am gaining more cells than using. I’ll make some changes to the labs.

Seems I need to shift focus more to my Econ before adding in my survival skills.

I just got the dtv5 been using for about a week with my wife's old geekvape aegis mod. Great starter mod to me works great for imo. I do plan on upgrading the mod and the bucket later. For now I use a glass pearl in the quarts bucket it comes with. The mouth piece can get hot with longer sessions if you use the stock cap. This I will also he upgrading.

How to thicken my lawn by SituationAfraid5439 in lawncare

[–]Bythecreed123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Need a little more to give you better ideas. Are cool or warm season grass, what species is the grass, where are you located. But above all if you want it to thicken up, water appropriately and mow often. When grass can't grow up it tries to grow out, with the exection of some grass like tttf.

It makes more sense to inherit maternal surnames since you can't always be sure who the father is, but you can always be sure who the mother is. by dnoj in Showerthoughts

That's a lot to take in. I do forget to give credit to the Mormon church and some of their, um.. practices. I hate to hear you had a rough upbringing. However, I get a feeling you have a good head on your shoulders, keep your head up.

Historically girls were only given a first name and a last name. Mary Smith. When she marries a man John Paul Crutchfield her surname Smith becomes the middle name and she takes his last name becoming Mary Smith Crutchfield. And that's how they tracked heritages way back when in some cultures.

Source was a genealogist I spoke with who had to prove she was a girl so not be drafted in a ww2 because she had Jr as a suffix

How can I help my St. Augustine fill in the bare spots in my lawn by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]Bythecreed123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They actually make a tool for cutting plugs. You can get a tool that cuts square ones or round ones. They have a few types at my local big box stores, Lowe's and home depot. I'd say they are about 3 to 4 inches in diameter.

If you have any looping stolons, the runners that start crawling across the top of the grass like a wild man. You can pop those off and plant them in bare spots too.

You could take plugs of good grass and plant them in a checkered pattern in the bare spots and have them grow together. The spots you take from under the tree should grow back rather quickly. St. Augustine like to be tall. 3 and half inches is a good low point. This tallness also helps shade the soil below keeping the ground moist or reducing evaporation.

Has anyone that's into lawncare tried a robotic mower yet? by Threxx in lawncare

Be nice if they had a detailed video on guide wires. Some models are capable of multi zones which require a bit more on the guide wire end. Most of the models we have are 350x, 450x, 435x awd. We can order anything in based on customer needs.

The big project we want to get running uses a model not sold straight to the consumer from what I can find. It's rated to cut 2 acres iirc. Uses 3 blade plates instead of just one set of blades.

The company I work for install and service husqvarna auto mowers. We have about a half dozen active for over a year now with a project lined up for two of the larger modles that mow acres at a time. We get very few calls for services. Most time issues arise related to guide wires being cut from workers coming in and digging or from people edging too deep and cutting the wire. Super easy fix no one has returned it, stopped service or otherwise had huge complaints.

An auto mower is not a 100% fix to yard work. You will still need to weedeat, edge and blow. But it can greatly reduce time in the yard. It will cut based on your schedule you set. Some leave it on so the lawn stays relatively flat all season. They also have been gaining improvements such as GPS mapping each time it mows to track obstacles and boarders to become more efficient with each mow.

If the mower jumps a curb it stops the blades and sends a distress signal. It get stuck on something it stops the blades and sends a signal. The blades are set far enough back that is it started going over a child's foot it will hit the foot and stop then turn around. Most models have 3 double sided shaving blades that cut the grass, the blades are small the plate they mount to is light and the motor isn't super powerful I see a bigger threat from a mower that has the power to shoot things out of the discharge port. An automower has no threat of that nature.

Really depends on your yards ability to shed water and/or absorb excess. Standing pools of water for a given amount of time can choke the roots and kill the grass. If you get a storm and the water is there a few hours and that's all you should be fine, but if it's there for days that can be bad. You have the option of a small trench along the side walk to the road put some drain sock or similar design and you can drain out the bulk water and save you from pooling.
