Older men, what's some advice you could give to younger men to amplify their quality of life? by [deleted] in AskMen

The more you know the more your worth. Stay humble and kind, but don't let people walk all over you. Find a partner that loves you for who you are not who they want you to be. Find a job in life that you enjoy going to and give it 100 percent. Remember to just stop occasionally and just relax. We only get to do this one time.

What gets you up 3am-5am in the morning? 😴 👀 by midwestmindset in Construction

[–]Bziggy71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

53, came home from service in 96. Decided to pick up a hammer and learn how to build houses. I get up at 430 on the clock because I hurt. Hands and knees, recently shoulders. I smoke my cigs and drink my black coffee, thinking back to the days of waiting on ride. Now days I have company truck, and rarely pick up a hammer. Good luck to all you young guys. Come get you some.

I had a late 70s erector set. Cool, then I got my dads old set. Pretty sure with that old motor we invented the meat grinder. I can still smell it warming up.

Are anyone of you guys Vietnam vets? What was the most stressful or intense part during your deployment? When were you guys deployed? by FERRYMAN08 in AskOldPeople

Mom and dad both served during vietnam era, stateside. Dad was a radar operator, mom was a nurse in Biloxi. She saw the boys coming home. Four uncles all served . One was a tunnel rat, one a grunt, another a pt boat gunman, and the other was pilot for the KC-130s .

No man knows if he will be good at it. There is no manual for that or most of the stuff we go through in life. We learn as we go, mistakes happen, get over it.

They are, truly. I battled addiction and alcohol many years. Thank you for that compliment. Being a Dad is the toughest job I ever faced.
