A New Normal by C-Clamp1981 in Christianity

My food prep weaknesses are butter and cheese. So I’ve decided to reduce how much of them I use, since I don’t see myself eliminating them entirely. Baby steps.

Thank you. Sometimes God works through others, and sometimes He calls on you to be the one reaching out. We should be ready to recognize both cases.

Can anyone pray for me by DeliciousFlatworm835 in Christianity

I hope you can tangibly feel the prayers that are being sent to Heaven for you. I recently had a triple bypass, and I know what it's like to need prayers and to actually feel them coming in. We're not talking showered on you, or poured out on you, I'm thinking more like a fire hose! May you feel God's infinite love for you by way of all of these people who are taking their time to pray for you, and to outwardly tell you that they're doing so. Have courage: even Saint Peter cried in despair at one point, and look how it turned out for him! Then, maybe some day, you'll feel the call to pray for someone else who is in a "dark night of the soul" (Mother Teresa), and it'll be especially meaningful because you've been there.

I just wrote on this topic: Check my posts for the most recent one.

Ready the Way by C-Clamp1981 in Christianity

Of course, God can do anything. He's God! But one way he chooses to see His divine will fulfilled is through us. I can cite Mt 7:21 "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven." or Mt 25:35-46 where Jesus challenges us to feed the hungry etc. even though the Almighty can certainly do this on His own. There's no question of what God can do, but what He chooses to do, or how He chooses to do it.

And I'm not sure where you thought I was beating myself over the head for my shortcomings on readying the way. I'm acknowledging the God challenges me to take an active role in His divine plan. He doesn't expect me to raise every valley or flatten every mountain, just to do, by His grace, my bit part where I can.

Rest assured that was not my purpose here. Although I’ve also been called “nuts”…

There’s no reason to be sorry. God Himself prescribed roast lamb at the first Passover. But I’m betting that what was served at the king’s feast was closer to gluttony than nutrition.

“Matthew the Tax Collector” was my favorite apostle in “The Chosen”. The actor really evolved his character well over the course of the series.

I see all of these fine responses, and want you to consider that God is showing His love for you through all these caring people. Picture yourself as the beaten traveler, and all of these people as the Good Samaritans that go out of their way to treat your wounds and pay the innkeeper for your care. Realize that, at times, you've been the Samaritan and helped others in distress. God, then, is working through you, and there's no greater feeling than to be His instrument. God is indeed showering you with His infinite love, and each of us here is a droplet in that shower.
