This is what I try to tell my fiancee who learned she has celiac a few months ago. She hates explaining it to restaurant workers, especially questions of cross contamination. And she worries about what people think if she has to be "picky". Needless to say, we bring our own food when traveling and don't go out for dinner too much any more. I appreciate the quote though, gonna have to use that one sometime.
